shep854 Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 Nice bird! Looking at the nose section, it appears that the P-2 Marlin lives on. Is this aircraft amphibious, or are the wheels simply for self-beaching? I was also impressed at how uncluttered the instrument panels are.
futon Posted March 15, 2023 Posted March 15, 2023 (edited) Only a few of them though (^^) It looks like a P-2 (P-5?) Merlin but seems unrelated as it seems like its leneage goes back to an HU-16 (UF-1) that the US handed over in the early 1960s. Yeah, US-2 is amphibious. Here's it taking off from a runway at 3:30. shep854 Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 You're right; the P-2 was the Neptune. I never would have seen the Albatross in the US-2's lines.
