It occurs to me that America has gotten stiffed on this thing. We were fortunate enough to get rid of Meghan, yet now we have both Meghan and Harry.

Why didn't they stay in Canada?

R011, Colin and Gank have some explaining to do. 🤨

Looking at her twitter feed...why hasn't RitaGamer been offered a membership?

Always liked Harry, and still do. A shame that it has come to this.

Meghan could have been the equivalent of the first black/female cadet to graduate from the Citadel. Not just playing one on TV.

My mother used to work in a newsagents near Charles Highgrove estate, and both of them sometimes came in to buy sweets. They were nice lads, probably still are. It's all so bloody Shakespearean.

First American Princess? No, that's been tried before. First commoner? First POC? ...what ever Pretty sure that if things worked out a bit differently, Japan and England could exchange royalty with zero issue. It's just not been seen as a necessity. Frankly, I think that'd have worked out better in the long run.

That is as good of an endorsement of the boys as it gets. Not going to give up hope on a reconciliation between them down the road. The bickering of their women notwithstanding.

I think Harry will go far in America if he stays. He'd likely go far in Kenya if he had to.

Something along the lines of Meghan impugning the traditions of the House of Windsor, responding as Churchill did re: the traditions of the Royal Navy, and possibly making it better by toughing out the hazing.

You could very well be right about Japanese royalty. I am not as enamored of its place and role in the future of Japan as I once was.

I think old traditions can reenforce good things and cohesion in a nation for good effects. Royalty can do so and frankly, despite our objections with our British cousins 200+ years ago, their institution can provide good. That its under attack by way of woke methods makes me think that whatever they did irk Meagan about tells me they may have been on to something. Ie the most flak is cause you're over the target.

It does amuse me CNN anchors getting really worked up, including one calling the monarchy out of date. And usually they are the ones whom were most vociferous against the last President. Oh the delicious irony. :D

Now is time for my racial (racist) thoughts :D

Harry looks suspiciously like Princess Di's bodyguard...but I digress...just wondering it there has even been black redhead? :P (apart from Rodman...)

Then there is this...

Often it appears like CNN has been hypnotized by the guys at the Babylon Bee to act ridiculous, so that the Bee has an infinite number of parody articles to write.

Reddish-brown hair does show up from time to time in America.

Probably from Norse raiders raping and pillaging their way along the west African coast. 😆

James Hewitt is the person you're thinking of.

Wikipedia has the timeline, and it doesn't match up.

Anyway, this is a tawdry sideshow and a most unpleasant direction in life for someone who prior to this relationship seemed to be as much if a straight-up chap as one could hope for.

The rumour mill about the reasons behind the animosity towards Meghan from Piers Morgan fits his reputation perfectly, and his influence on the tabloid section of the press may explain a great deal of the current public sentiment.

She may be a gold digger, she may not, but the one universal truth is that Piers Morgan is without morals and has no principles save for those that serve himself.

That is Inversion of Control, the straight way is fill the newspapers with unnamed persons' reporting of the evil deeds of Meghan Markle. She is going to be the next president of the USA. That would be astronomic height. Women astronauts can be controlling and unstable. JFK and Khrushchev avoided WW3, will she attack the UK?  Will she turn the Mayflower back?

I don't read or listen to much from him, he's always kind of struck me as being very much the mean girl in the popular crowd at high school.  I recall reading a column of his that seemed to be entirely devoted to him bitching that she had ghosted him on one of the social media platforms once she had landed her prince. What I don't think he ever spelled out was what benefit she derived from 'friending' him in the first place.

i really need to subscribe to Hebdo, one's language skills rot fast when not in use and my French looks like a Sherman pulled from a shallow, salty, sea and left outside unwashed for 5 years.

One could interpret that front page in at least two ways.

Nadine White seems to have picked the way that makes Charlie Hebdo out to be racists. The other way is the exact opposite. Unless there is further context inside the magazine, I'd suggest that the looks on their faces may be a better tell on the intent than Ms. White's interpretation, put I could easily be wrong.
