Not sure if they got nothing out of it. Such attacks could harm Israeli owned or controlled shipping via insurance rates or lengthier routes. I wonder what the Israeli response will be, in the last few months we have only seen tit for tat pinprick attacks, such as a small scale bombing of the Iranian floating terror base, the Saviz, in the Red Sea. A next escalatory step would be to sink this particular ship or Iran's new terrorism support vessel, the Makran.

The Khartoum caught fire and sank, though it isn’t clear why.

It's impossible to know how accurate this is. But I thought it was worth relating.

I think it would pretty obvious if a transit occurred.

The Israeli navy does not even have any destroyers.

Well perhaps Iranian Journalists are as fond of hyperbole as American ones?
