Dawes Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Oman is surrounded by countries that have been in conflict in one way or another in past decades. Saudi Arabia, Iran, the UAE, and Yemen. And of course, Iraq isn't that far away. Oman seems to have remained uninvolved in regional conflicts, and is rarely mentioned in news reports. How has this country managed to steer such a neutral course?

Wanted the visit Armed Forces museum but was closed - planning to go back and even further south to Dhofar surprised to learn they have there own version of Islam - Ibadi Islam From what little I have read the military is fragmented - the standard three branches plus police, special forces and Royal Guard terrain up north and by coast goes from lush to Martian - inland seriously Martian I would think
