I don't see several hundred troops being a game changer in any case. Either the Venezuelan military flips or it doesn't and several hundred Russians or Chinese won't move that needle one way or the other. What Maduro will ultimately run out of in the long run is money. It isn't clear how much more the Russians or Chinese are willing to invest in that sinking ship; hopefully billions more on top of the tens of billions they already have.

In the mean time we'll be Waiting For Guaido.

A few hundred troops won't affect the situation on D+1 except in the evacuation-of-diplomatic-personnel mission, which actually makes sense based on the numbers.

Interestingly, North Vietnam and Vietnamese remain on the list of nations backing Maduro, which seems to have stabilized

Now it looks like Donald Trump has sabotaged Venezuela's water supply! Will the evil capitalist pigs ever leave peaceful South American socialists alone?

I expect Guaido sabotaged it personally. Someone should frisk him down and see if he has a monkey wrench on him.

What is monkey wrench?

Thank you, it's interesting to know adjustable wrench. is tool of sabotage in English - making one look different at lots of Soviet symbols

Richard Hausman, Inter-American Development Bank Representative for this Guaido, stated for the record last week that “After [the Maduro government] leaves, Venezuela is a country that needs to be reconstructed. China can have a very large role to play in that process.”

Someone needs to remind this Guaido that the rationale for this entire exercise has nothing to do with giving China and Chinese a very large role to play in anything.

Don't worry, this possibility was already ruled out by Rus prankers talk to Guido (and i think China listned carefully)

Oil pipeline blown

But seems like it is old habit (not clear how to tell real terror attack from technical incident blamed on terrorists to coverup)

http://tapnewswire.com/2017/08/us-keeps-blowing-up-venezuelan-oil-pipelines/

Without an independent expert, there is no way to tell and if it was an accident, then it's not in the interest of the government to portray as one. That being said if they show a close up and the pipe is bent out, likely an accident and if bent inwards likely on purpose.

Both a relief and disturbing at the same time. This Guaido appears willing to say anything to anyone.

That being said if they show a close up and the pipe is bent out, likely an accident and if bent inwards likely on purpose.

It could also indicate a false flag, although I don't think Maduro is in a position to exchange lost oil revenue for PR at the moment.

Could be local sabotage by disgruntled workers, could be illegal tapping in a pipe to get free gas or a gang for failure to pay protection money .

Many moons ago, when Chavez was still above ground, it had been said that he had 'purged' all the technical folks in the oil industry (IE: the guys who know who to maintain & run the system) and replaced them with 'politically reliable' (IE Guys who didn't know crap about maintaining the system...); the result being frequent blow outs, spills and other breakdowns.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/russian-plane-in-venezuela-takes-20-tons-of-gold-flies-to-unknown-location-lawmaker-claims

About 20 tons of gold from Venezuela's central bank was ready to be hauled away Tuesday on a Russian airline's Boeing 777 that landed in Caracas a day earlier, a Venezuelan lawmaker wrote on Twitter.

The destination of the $840 million in gold bars was unknown, but a source told Bloomberg News that it represented about 20 percent of the country's holding of the metal. The gold was set aside for loading, the report said.

The news outlet, which first reported on the tweet, identified the lawmaker as Jose Guerra. The lawmaker did not provide evidence for his claim but is identified in the report as a former economist at the country's central bank with close ties to workers still there.

Noticias Venezuela, a news outlet in the country, posted a photo of what it identified as a Nordwind Airlines plane from Moscow that made the trip with only a crew aboard.

Just what I expected. Maduro is executing his exit strategy, a la Idi Amin. I am guessing this is his Plan B, not his Plan A, but as the Boy Scouts say, be prepared.

The next question is, which nation & city has he chosen for his retirement home? The list of nations with reliably similar political values is kinda short, and factoring in weather, I came up with Sochi.
