I don't know, but the RCC needs to get a handle on this fast. Either allow boy-bumping for all priests and recruit as many gay priests as possible, or adhere to Canon. https://www.amazon.com/Goodbye-Good-Men-Liberals-Corruption/dp/1621574261/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=goodbye+good+men&qid=1551266721&s=gateway&sr=8-1 This book was horrifying when I read it a number of years ago. Still completely valid.

Where were the liberals when Alexander VI, Benedict IX, or Julius III was the Pope?

Good question. The Popes have always been good for hypocracy and scandal.

Joining the party of course. No Rome without proper orgies. It is tradition!

And they force them to abort? Even up to eighth month. Far beyond any legal regulation, but then the one and only church is above mere profane law. :glare:

There are more under-the-rug-sweepers to catch:

French Cardinal Covered Up Pedophile Accusations Against Priest, Court Says

March 7, 20199:55 AM ET

A court in Lyon, France, has convicted Cardinal Philippe Barbarin — one of France's most prominent Catholic officials — of not reporting accusations of deprivation or sexual abuse of Boy Scouts by a priest in his diocese.
After the ruling, Barbarin said he would offer his resignation to Pope Francis. Separately, his lawyer said he also would appeal the court's guilty verdict.
The criminal court in Lyon sentenced Barbarin to a six-month suspended prison sentence — a decision that shocked many who followed the high-profile trial. The case's prosecutors had not sought a prison sentence for Barbarin, and the victims also said they didn't expect a conviction, in part because some of the crimes in question had lapsed due to the statute of limitations.
Brigitte Verney, president of the Lyon Criminal Court, said Barbarin had failed to fulfill an important obligation between 2014 and 2015. In a partial transcript quoted by Le Progres, the court ruled that while the cardinal was in a unique position to collect key information and do something about sexual abuse allegations, Barbarin "made the choice in conscience, to preserve the institution to which he belongs, not to transmit them to justice."

Barbarin, 68, was snared by a case involving the now-notorious Father Bernard Preynat, who has reportedly acknowledged abusing Boy Scouts in the 1970s and '80s. He is under indictment, still awaiting trial.
The first abuse claim against Preynat was made in 1991; since then, dozens of victims and their families have spoken out and formed a victims support group.
Barbarin became archbishop of Lyon in 2002; Preynat retired in 2015. Preynat's alleged victims say Barbarin had let the priest continue to have contact with children despite longstanding allegations against him.
The case also has touched the Vatican — which invoked diplomatic immunity last October, when it refused to officially notify Cardinal Luis Ladaria, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, of the Lyon court's summons for him to testify. French police had found a letter from Ladaria — written when he was the CDF secretary — in which he told Lyon's archbishop to discipline Preynat "while avoiding public scandal."
In his role at the CDF, Ladaria is the Vatican's top official for sex abuse cases.
Delivering a brief statement after Thursday's verdict, Barbarin reiterated that he has compassion for the victims in the case. He also said he would go visit the pope "in a few days."

All this time, the "conspiracy theorists" were exactly right about a global cabal of God damned pederasts and other degenerates, working to protect each other. The Church must be cleansed by fire, this will, must, make the historical Inquisition look like the work of children.

These loathsome degenerates shall make Warhammer 40k real. S/F....Ken M

I don't know what Warhammer 40k is, but I agree with the sentiment. The Roman Catholic church needs to start with these three actions.

1. Turn over individuals to the civil authorities for investigation.

2. Allow priests to marry

3. Elaborate on what the sin of homosexuality does to society and do everything the Church can to eliminate it.

The summit was a cover up and charade from the start. This proves the RCC has no intention of handling the crisis, instead they want to protect pervert priests, bishops, archbishops, cardinals and popes. http://thefederalist.com/2019/02/28/pope-francis-summit-clerical-sexual-abuse-charade/

Agree, but this future was written long ago.

Romans 1:24-28. Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.
When in doubt, read the eternal owner's manual!

In Orthodox faith, how many of the scandals are homosexual? The vast majority of the RCC problems in the 1st world are homosexual pedos. Now in the 3rd world, you have the clergy simply continuing their native values of harem formation and big man tribal behavior, just in a new/different hierarchy. It will be interesting when the old world RCC of homos runs into the third world RCC of extreme anti-homo. S/F....Ken M

Absorbing and compelling reading from beginning to end, AA -1025 Memoirs of the Communist Infiltration Into the Church is a must read for every Catholic today and for all who would understand just what has happened to the Catholic Church since the 1960's.

In the 1960's, a French nurse, Marie Carre, attended an auto-crash victim who was brought into her hospital in a city she purposely does not name. The man lingered there near death for a few hours and then died. He had no identification on him, but he had a briefcase in which there was a set of quasi-autobiographical notes. She kept these notes and read them, and because of their extraordinary content, decided to publish them.

The result is this little book, AA-1025 Memoirs of the Communist Infiltration Into the Church, a strange and fascinating account of a Communist who purposely entered the Catholic priesthood along with many others, with the intent to subvert and destroy the Church from within. His strange yet fascinating and illuminating set of biographical notes, tells of his commission to enter the priesthood, his experiences in the seminary, and the means and methods he used and promoted to help effect from within the auto-dissolution of the Catholic Church.

Plus that other book Murph linked.

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/priest-blogger-bishops-send-conservative-priests-to-psych-hospitals-for-dep

September 26, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — American bishops are sending traditional-minded or conservative priests to psychiatric hospitals for “reprogramming” or as punishment, a priest blogger has alleged.

Father John Zuhlsdorf, also known as Fr. Z, wrote on his popular blog September 25 that the number of priests sent for psychiatric evaluations has increased, and that it’s conservative and traditional priests who are targeted.

“Over the last few months I have been contacted by diocesan priests (and a religious) who were being sent by their bishops (superior) to be ‘evaluated’ at one of these psych clinics for clergy,” he said.

In an “alarmingly similar pattern,” the bishop sends the priest to the psychiatric facility for an evaluation after some “dust up” in the parish, according to Fr. Zuhlsdorf, a priest who resides in the Diocese of Madison.

After two or three weeks, the priest is released, with the clinic assuring him all is fine, but then he’s summoned to see his bishop who tells him the institute has evaluated him “and it is always about the same” with “narcissism and borderline bi-polar,” wrote the priest-blogger.

The priest is then pressured to go back for treatment. He is told it will last “for three months or so,” but when he arrives, his cell phone is taken away, as is his shaving kit, the staff “start pumping him full of drugs and monitoring/controlling email,” and he is told it will be six months, Zuhlsdorf asserted.

“A common characteristic of the priests: they are conservative or traditionalists,” he added.

Zuhlsdorf has a friend who “was forced into one of these places and, when we could talk on the phone, he told me that I wouldn’t believe the number of conservative men there and what they were reading,” he wrote.

“After a few months of ‘treatment,’ I barely recognized his conversation, his focus was shot, and his words were slurred,” Zuhlsdorf noted.

It’s a coordinated effort by the bishops “as a way of stomping out conservative or traditionalists in their dioceses,” he suspects.

I could believe that, remembering how the Catholic church was such a problem for them in Poland, even before the 1980's.They did precisely the same with the Russian Orthodox Church. Even today there are allegations some of them are still on the payroll from the old KGB days.

The Methodist Church is starting to look like it will have an ugly split over the issue of gay marriage. US/Western Europeans leaders thought they had the votes to approve their approval of gay marriage by the church... until the African clergy stamped that out quite quickly. Cue left-leaning racist dogwhistles by folks who were upset that their assumption that the African clergy would get in lockstep with them in the march on The Right Side of History got blown out of the water.

He was hardly the first, either. Note last paragraph below.

The Liber Gomorrhianus (Book of Gomorrah) is a book authored and published by the Benedictine monk St. Peter Damian during the Gregorian Reformation circa AD 1051. [1] It is a treatise regarding the vices of the clergy, principally sodomy, and the consequent need for reform.

[...] Although various forms of same-sex behaviour were discussed in contemporary handbooks of penance, such as those by Burchard of Worms and Regino of Prüm, according to Paul Halsall, this is the only theological tract which exclusively addresses this theme.[1]

In this, Petrus Damiani made an attack on homosexual practices, mutual masturbation, copulation between the thighs, anal copulation and solitary masturbation,[1] as subversive disruptions against the moral order occasioned by the madness associated with an excess of lust. He was especially indignant about priests having sexual relationships with adolescent boys. He singles out superiors who, due to excessive and misplaced piety, have been lax in their duty to uphold church discipline. He opposes the ordination of those who engage in homosexual sex and wants those already ordained dismissed from Holy Orders. Those who misuse the sacraments to defile boys are treated with particular contempt.

Controversy

It caused a great stir and aroused not a little enmity against its author. Even the pope, Pope Leo IX, who had at first praised the work, was persuaded that it was exaggerated. He praised Damian's motivation in advocating chastity and condemning vice, and told him that Damian's own exemplary life did more to teach appropriate conduct than any words. He softened the suggestions for decisive action against offending clerics made by the author and excluded from the ranks of clergy only those who had offended repeatedly and over a long period of time.[4] The Pope's reaction drew from Damian a vigorous letter of protest.

I always chuckle when people act like this is an issue of the last few decades, caused by general liberalization of sexual mores in society or something. The fact is probably that among the many reasons why people are drawn to church service, there have always been the ones who sought celibacy as an escape from their sexual urges they considered immoral themselves, but failed to uphold it; and the ones deliberately seeking the all-male environment and/or position of authority over others, including children, to act out their desires. Both types were mentioned in the recent report on abuse in the German Catholic Church, too.

Main difference is those perversions were considered evil acts, by the majority of laity, clergy, the whole society, and even the perverts themselves until about the 1970s. Nowadays, those perversions are not only not considered a bad thing, but the act of expressing opinions against them leads to exclusion from "well thinking" society, and even penal prosecution.

In general society, on homosexuality, certainly. But even disregarding that pedophilia is quite a separate issue both psychologically and in public opinion, that doesn't explain cases going back before the 70s (the report on abuse in the Irish Church went back to 1936, and Vienna archbishop Hans Hermann Cardinal Groer was forced to resign in 1995 over incidents during his tenure at the Hollabrunn boys' seminary in 1947-52 - basically, as long as people were still alive to report), or even to the time of Peter Damian. I wouldn't know official opinion in the Church itself has become more condoning after 1970, either. If anything, greater liberalism in general society should have lessened the pressure on those seeking to escape their homosexual urges into celibacy. It might be an effect we'll see only in the future though.

The German Bishops' conference has a link to a page about sexual abuse on the frontpage of their website.

they even have it in english language: https://www.dbk.de/themen/topic-sexual-abuse/

There are also pages about former children in care of the church and such issues as well.

And on Ash Wednesday the chairman Cardinal Marx published a letter putting the clearing up of all these cases of sexual abuse as most important. so at least in Germany have been moving for years now to clean up their stuff.
