Polska Kawaleria - Awesome!! Definitely saving that one.

My Father was a cavalry officer in WWI (1st Brigade), the Latvian Campaign (Miracle on the Vistula), and at the start of WWII.

Thats really good. Remind me a little of Clannad.

Google Fu tells me that the song is traditional, from the XVIII century, and the translation gives me the traditional themes of soldiering misery, nothing blatantly patriotic. But indeed the fiddle play feels more atlantic/celtic than eastern/klezmer. No wonder, the template for the modern Slavic folk metal is UKian in its core.

Its nice though. I like it that music is blooming in places other than London and Detroit.

I remember this tune from that PBS miniseries' about Bernard Cornwell's 'Sharpe's Rifles' with Sean Bean as Sharpe
