I found out long time ago when I did a research for "Call of Cthulhu" RPG that "The Great Model 8" and Winchester 1907 with extended mags were way more popular than Tommy guns and BARs on both sides of the law.

That sentence is perfect in so many ways.

I saw it two days ago and it was a very good movie. Loved the gun buying scene btw.

Just watched it and enjoyed quite a bit. I was impressed by Costner and Harrelson, as well as the recreation of the 30s. I was surprised to see that it was a Netflix production.

Well you know Costner, he's solid as long as you keep him away from bodies of salt water.

Frank Hamer used a Reminton Model 8 with a custom fitted 20 round magazine. The rifle was in .35 Remington, and it has an AK style safety, I had one just like it, but gave it to my brother so he could have the set with the one in .30 Remington. Kicks hard.

To be accurate, the AK has a Model 8 style safety. ;)

Netflix is the new kid on the block of movie making, so they dare more than Hollywood, which has been taken over by the bean counters that only put their money on save bets. So we get the same old from there. Oh another superhero, another romcom.

Or mailbags.

Both much cheaper than BAR or Tommy gun. The latter was priced at abut U$D200. What did Colt charge for a BAR?

Oh and firearms are a trap option for Call of Cthulhu. They do not help with SAN checks. ;)

Plenty vs humans, and vs lesser species of the old ones (Deep one and such...)vs old ones you are screwed anyway or have to be incredibly creative... :)

Another darling of the both sides of the law was Browning Auto-5.

Knowledgeable. Well if it did not make you lose sanity... Always burn the books first! ;)

Which reminds me...

The Browning Auto 5 is a wonderful weapon, but not good to place in the hands of a SAN 2 character. Everyone wants to read the books.....

What, you didn't like Dances with Waterworld?

Sorta depends on what the beasties is and sorta depends on if you're the one firing or it's one of your party firing and you're exiting stage right to get away from the beastie.

Me and mankind didn't.

I completely forgot that that IKEA was a thing. Might swing by next time i’m doing a run to Austin.

They have a big one in Austin.

Yes, but I wouldn’t be going to it to buy furniture since the house is in S.A.

Easy, just go to the Live Oak Ikea store.

How can one forget Ikea? Or are they not as widespread in the USA?

This is so american. ^_^

Only thing I use peanut butter for is Gambian groundnut soup, because the groundnuts are already ground into paste.

You have access to all that fine ass European chocolate and you're not sexing it up with peanut butter? You're missing out my friend.

I was curious about this because I've never seen one. I googled it and there's all of one in the Valley (and it's so far away I'd never bother to go to it) and we're one of the 10 most populous metro areas in the US. Wiki is saying there's all of 50 stores in the US.

Surprising to hear since everyone seems to know about them.

I'm a bit surprised there are so few in the US. There are 14 in Canada - five in the Greater Toronto Area.
