Panzermann Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 I have actually referred to my furnishing style as "IKEA Zen". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pDY_9u5Sn0?t=50 I call it the IKEA pan through his appartment
BansheeOne Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 I used to have a shot of my living room online, but it seems to be gone. I think the only furniture in there that's not IKEA are the TV stand, the gun stand (though it's on top of an IKEA dresser), and the CD stand I took over from my brother #2 at their last move (though I'm not sure about that, and conversely about whether one or more of the tables are really from IKEA despite looking the part). However, I'm sure I could find those items at the place, too ...
FlyingCanOpener Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 My fiancee is super-traditional in her tastes. I take her to IKEA in Houston for the first time, and we leave with her having spent $150 on decorations. She told me last week that we need to go back so she can see what's new this year.
rmgill Posted February 17, 2019 Posted February 17, 2019 We have this in town... http://www.highlandwoodworking.com

Murph Posted February 18, 2019 Author Posted February 18, 2019 I took Lupe there today, she was impressed at the stuff she could get for her craft room. It was so packed we had to park a mile and a half away and take a shuttle bus there (we walked back).

It took almost a year for the traffic to stop backing up onto the interstate but even into the second year the parking could be nuts.
Ssnake Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Bring some Smørrebröd and Øl, and you'll be fine.

Murph Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 Victoria got a birthday coupon so we went again today, and she ate cake. She wants me to get more of the Lingonberry syrup so she can make more drinks. Sigh IKEA.
Murph Posted March 5, 2019 Author Posted March 5, 2019 And it went from 80F to a wind chill of 19F overnight. Texas weather, you don't like it, give it five minutes and it will change.
Panzermann Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 IKEA also sells bright yellow vests, in case anyone wants to start revolution.
Murph Posted March 6, 2019 Author Posted March 6, 2019 IKEA also sells bright yellow vests, in case anyone wants to start revolution. They also sell tea pots, and other kitchen stuff that seems to be coated with that strange element known as "Buymeum". For some unknown reason, the girls have decided that the Lingonberry syrup is needed to make drinks on a regular basis.
Murph Posted March 7, 2019 Author Posted March 7, 2019 March 6th 1836, the brave defenders of the Alamo were no more.
Rick Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 March 6th 1836, the brave defenders of the Alamo were no more. Not to flippant, but it appears your approaching this via IKEA

Murph Posted March 12, 2019 Author Posted March 12, 2019 The defenders of the Alamo could have used some of these... Never seen one like that, but it sure is funny. I feel the need to go and get some more kitchen stuff. And maybe a computer desk. And maybe.......
Murph Posted March 30, 2019 Author Posted March 30, 2019 Hard men for hard times. https://hotair.com/archives/2019/03/30/film-review-highwaymen/ Bonnie and Clyde were just two bit murdering outlaws. I love working with the Texas Rangers, a more professional group you will not encounter. Closest I ever came was with the RCMP on a case I had.
toysoldier Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I saw it two days ago and it was a very good movie. Loved the gun buying scene btw.
Murph Posted March 31, 2019 Author Posted March 31, 2019 Frank Hamer used a Reminton Model 8 with a custom fitted 20 round magazine. The rifle was in .35 Remington, and it has an AK style safety, I had one just like it, but gave it to my brother so he could have the set with the one in .30 Remington. Kicks hard.
bojan Posted March 31, 2019 Posted March 31, 2019 I found out long time ago when I did a research for "Call of Cthulhu" RPG that "The Great Model 8" and Winchester 1907 with extended mags were way more popular than Tommy guns and BARs on both sides of the law.
