Murph Posted September 23, 2023 Author Posted September 23, 2023 Well the GOP voted 58-2 to tell that RINO slimebag Dade Phelan to step down. He won't, but he should do the honorable thing.

They would seem to have a point, if TX-R messaging is to be believed; https://dallasexpress.com/state/tx-counties-censure-impeachment-murr-phelan/ Quote “Speaker Phelan colluded with House Democrats to conduct a sham impeachment of AG Ken Paxton which: ignored House impeachment precedent; placed no witnesses under oath; allowed no cross examination of witnesses; presented hearsay allegations with no legal evidence; called for overturning the will of Texas votes; and called for a House impeachment vote within just 48 hours,” the memo explained. Phelan is an enemy of school choice and vouchers, which makes it probable he is not just a RINO, but worse. ISTR one of the slams against Paxton was being drunk in the house. Phelan seems to have a similar problem; https://www.fox4news.com/video/1224720 This Murr guy is also receiving critique, as well; Quote Specifically, they pointed to Murr “admitting to knowingly fail to present any sworn testimony for consideration by house members as required by Texas Government Code.” As reported by The Dallas Express, the House General Investigating Committee led by Murr failed to take any sworn testimony in direct violation of stipulations in Texas law.
Murph Posted September 24, 2023 Author Posted September 24, 2023 Texas has suffered from RINO speakers who got there due to Democrats, and voted with Democrats, Joe Strauss was just horrbile as well. We need some real conservative real Texans, not these California light Republicans. Get rid of all of them.
Ivanhoe Posted September 25, 2023 Posted September 25, 2023 https://www.libsoftiktok.com/p/-tc Quote Representative Clardy of the Texas House of Representatives, is the living definition of a hypocrite. He voted against school choice in Texas and claimed there was no wokeness in his district. Turns out he sends his kids to private school, is funded by teacher’s unions, and his district’s schools are filled with wokeness.
Murph Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 Yep. Since I am home dog sitting (the dog fell down the stairs, which required a vet visit), I have been watching videos, and watched some of the impeachment trial, and I was horrified at how piss poor the so called "evidence" against Paxton actually was. It was 3rd and 4th hand innuendo, speculation, etc. The judge should have ordered a directed verdict of Not Guilty. The sad part is it appears it was a typical liberal shoot them first, try them afterwards event. Sad, just really sad. The defense lawyer was excellent, the prosecution should be dis-barred.
Murph Posted October 17, 2023 Author Posted October 17, 2023 As he said the photo says it all. A REAL Texas hero.

sunday Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Only saw it once, and partially. Did not realize it had John Wayne in until recently.
Ssnake Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Well the image background is whit-ish, most of the time.
sunday Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Lots of sunlight in Texas this summer, they got a very deep tan.
urbanoid Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Makes one wonder if US crime statistics aren't actually even worse when it comes to... oppressed minorities.
sunday Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 On top of Fascist, Statistics could be also Racist, you know.

FIFY American crime stats have been increasingly deceptive over the last 20-25 years. They now lump "Hispanic"* offenders in with Caucasian in an attempt to hide the awful violent crime rates in black America. * Nixon's gift that keeps on giving. For those who have a glimmer of knowledge about language, Spaniards and Portogooses are lumped in with offenders from Latin America for no good reason.

You kind of have to be to do that sort of job, internationally and by flying into foreign countries to do so when they might still have civil unrest going on from wars or revolutions.
Steven P Allen Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 Ain't just Texas, Murph. We see them all over the place here in MO. Heck, I jumped one walking my dog in our field two weeks ago.
Murph Posted October 26, 2023 Author Posted October 26, 2023 Had apparently a micro-tornado come through, and wrecked the roof of my shed, caused damage to the roof of the house, and shook the walls, windows and doors. Lasted about 10-15 seconds. I am not complaining about the rain, lord knows we needed it.
Murph Posted November 4, 2023 Author Posted November 4, 2023 I had to go qualify with the Sheriff's Office since I have retired credentials. So I shot my new SIG P-225A1 and let me tell you that pistol is a winner. While it is not a .45 (a real mans caliber), for a 9mm crunch and ticker, it shoots really nicely. Plus I was issued some duty ammunition so I carry the same thing the department issues (liability, liability, liability, lawyers evil and bad). Also since SIG .357 ammo is darn near impossible to find, I had to put the .40 caliber barrel back in the P-229, and it shot very well also. So the old man can still qualify. I like the P-225 better than the P-229, and almost as much as my P-220 (.45 ACP) that I carried on duty. Plus I realized that the pistol came with the G-10 grips, SIG art, and nightsights which I did not realize when I got it. For $600 I got a pistol that I do not think had ever been fired before. Wow!
