EchoFiveMike Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 ^ This is why women should stay at home and keep house. Subhumans are gonna subhuman. And this is a parable of America. She continued to do something proven to be absolutely worthless, blathering on the phone, instead of DOING something. Yeah, chicks generally don't do stuff, they get men to do stuff....that time has passed. S/F...Ken M

Sardaukar Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 "Vote early, vote often" Though somehow proof of that is pretty scarce.
rmgill Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Proof of organized crime is scarce too. Organized crime takes pains to keep a low profile. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
Murph Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Ok, I just got off the phone with one of the prosecutors. I got GOOD news for a change. Several years ago I worked a child abuse case that was the worst I have ever seen in the 28+ years I had been a cop. I have never seen a child of 2 1/2 years of age so brutally beaten and still live. This child had bruises from the soles of his feet to his head. He had part of his skull removed due to swelling and brain bleeding. The two investigators who were assigned both quit after the initial start of this case, and if fell to me as the supervisor to finish it. Another Sergeant, who was hard core, and could pretty much handle anything could not even walk into the room with the child he was so wrecked by this case. I have had nightmares ever since about this case. The mother's boyfriend was caught on Nanny cam hitting the child who was asleep in the crib with a pair of brass nuckles made out of hard polymer. We got the video. The mother finally admitted after an hour of being interviewed and showed photos of her son that the abuse had been going on for two weeks. I have never seen two Paramedics break down and cry during an interview but they did. The nurses at the hospital also broke down and cried. The doctors told me that he did not have much of a chance to live. Well, he lived. Blind in one eye, and some brain damage, but far less than could be expected. Well the mother took her plea deal today and got 18 years (she has to do at least 9), and the boyfriend took 37 years (he has to do at least half). I actually started crying on the phone with the prosecutor. Sometimes miracles happen. The judge delivered the sentences, the mother shows no remorse, regret or even compassion. Neither does the meth head boyfriend. Our victim has been adopted by the nurse who took care of him, along with his sister. Good things sometimes happen. I am being vindictive but I really hope neither does well in prison. I hope their dance cards are full..... Thank God this is over. There are some things no human being should have to see, but someone has to do the job. I think I might sleep well tonight.
Tim the Tank Nut Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 it's happenings such as these that try mens' faith. I am glad you got good results. Pray the best for the child. As to the abusers, it's not for me to render final judgement but I raise your vindictiveness by hoping that something truly awful happens to them. It's not right but it's how I feel.
Rick Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Perhaps the most difficult verses to have patience with is Romans 12: 18-19 E.S.V. "18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
JWB Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Republican-led investigation on Wednesday accused Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton of committing multiple crimes in office — including felonies — during an extraordinary public airing of scandal and alleged lawbreaking that plunged one of the GOP’s conservative stars into new political and legal risk. For more than three hours, investigators presented findings alleging Paxton sought to hide an affair, misused his office to help a donor, skirted protocols “grossly outside” norms and built a culture of fear and retaliation in his office. Investigators told the GOP-led House General Investigating Committee that there was evidence that Paxton repeatedly broke the law over the years, including by misusing official information, abusing his official capacity and retaliation. https://apnews.com/article/texas-ken-paxton-investigation-40ba70a33235eda9a31fc2628cbd7d61
Murph Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Ah yes, Austin follies. Everyone knows Paxton has issues, but he got re-elected handily. It was either him or the Soros Demon-rat. I suspect he will get indicted at some point.
Murph Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Even better, the little boy and his sister were both adopted by the long term care nurse who took care of him. He is as happy and healthy as he can be under the circumstances. I will admit to shedding a tear or two when I got the news.

Murph Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Yep. I forgot Bush jr was running, the son of Jeb!, and we DO NOT need ANOTHER Bush doing anything here. So they will replace him with someone else. It was a pretty open secret that he was really dirty, and two of the AG prosecutors I worked with on a major fraud case resigned. They were odd ducks, but most prosecutors who love to do fraud are a little OCD at times. But they were both nice people.

Skywalkre Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 This isn't going to surprise anyone... Quote Justice Department Finds Civil Rights Violations by the Minneapolis Police Department and the City of Minneapolis WASHINGTON – Following a comprehensive investigation, the Justice Department announced today that the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) and the City of Minneapolis (City) engage in a pattern or practice of conduct in violation of the U.S. Constitution and federal law. The Department also announced that the city and MPD have agreed in principle to resolve the Department’s findings through a court enforceable consent decree with an independent monitor, rather than through contested litigation. https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/justice-department-finds-civil-rights-violations-minneapolis-police-department-and-city This part from the report was particularly troubling: Quote Our review of the data depicted above showed that roughly three quarters of MPD’s reported uses of force did not involve an associated violent offense or a weapons offense. There have been some other cases shown in this thread where police reported a violent suspect... and the only violence was done by the police against an individual who didn't do anything to warrant it. Sadly, in our system, that person would face even more serious charges and given its only recent years you have body cam footage (if it's even turned on) have folks finally been able to push back... assuming they don't have some public defender who has 5m of prep and no time to look into the incident.
Tim the Tank Nut Posted June 23, 2023 Posted June 23, 2023 It does appear that the Mayor of Minneapolis has consistently come from one political party. In fact, the city of Minneapolis appears to be primarily voting in one direction all the time. It's very strange how this could happen under those circumstances. Having pointed out the obvious I'd still chime in that Skywalkre is completely correct about the need for accountability. I don't disagree one bit. The dichotomy comes from having that viewpoint at the level of the police but having an "end justifies the means" attitude at the national political level. The viewpoints certainly seem in conflict to me.
rmgill Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 I have noted a consistent set of contradictory directives to Police by Democrat administrations. Its like a dog thats beaten and which acts like a good guard dog but then gets beaten for barking at any good person. Eventually you have problems.

In fact, the city of Minneapolis appears to be primarily voting in one direction all the time. It's very strange how this could happen under those circumstances. Heard this a lot in this thread. Said (most of) the below a lot as well (though folks just seem to ignore it). - We know in the rare cases where these cops get fired/'quit'/whatever that they quickly get hired on elsewhere. If these instances only happened in D controlled cities and they got rehired in D controlled cities that wouldn't be a big deal, but... - We know this happens in R controlled cities as well. This very thread has instances of said misconduct in R controlled cities. The reason this gets missed is... fuzzier. It seems Rs tend to be ok with said misconduct as its viewed as being tough on crime/cleaning up the rabble/whatever. Rs also don't tend to control major cities... so it's possible there's less instances overall (but on a per capita instance it may be similar). We also have a massive decline in local papers/journalism so only the big cities will get coverage while smaller/fewer large R cities could get ignored/missed (note the GA case several posts back... that was broke not by a local paper in the small town but by a major GA publication). I saw an interview recently where the decline in local journalism has been shown to lead to a direct increase in corruption and higher taxes. - Just look at any police union rep regardless of who controls the city where their union works. They're always blindly and blatantly pro-cop even in the most heinous of instances (though in recent cases they're just not saying anything). That right there is the nail in the coffin that a majority (not all... but at least 50.1%) of cops have gone awry. (I fully understand this last point is probably the weakest... but the above two are strong enough on their own.) As to Minneapolis in particular... I've seen at least two interviews with their new police chief. He seems like an amazing, intelligent individual who 'gets it'. I wish him nothing but the best of luck in his latest endeavor. ETA - I've also seen analysis that states with R control tend to have less accountability/tracking/whatever of police actions (also less likely to voluntarily give info to Fed agencies trying to track stuff). Thus it could simply be an issue of we can't be as sure of what goes on or aware of improper instances in places the Rs control. Edited June 24, 2023 by Skywalkre
Tim the Tank Nut Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 now we come to it "just look at any police union rep" a public union representative to quote Azetbur "if you could only hear yourselves...". rmgill is right on target with the beaten dog approach. I also won't defend the dishonest law enforcement in the "R" controlled cities although I struggle to think of a major city that is controlled by Republicans. I guess there's an outlier for everything. Dave Filoni works for Disney so there's definitely an outlier for everything. I'm not trying to hammer you on this. I'm trying to make it clear that the policies you support inevitably lead to where we are. It's not that you don't have the right to support whatever is best for you. You even have the right to support what's worse for you. More terrible still is that you have the right to support what is worse for everyone else too. It just seems ironic to miss the connection. I'll offer another quote: "Pain, suffering, death... that's what war is all about. You've made it so neat that you've had it for 500 years..." It's the same with societal crime; taking away the guardrails of what makes a polite society has had effects all outside of the initial goals. Being in Law Enforcement needs to be a "high calling". It can't be a no win scenario for the officers or no one will answer that calling. The union mentality is us vs them everywhere else its tried. Why wouldn't it be the same in this case?
Murph Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 Typical Democrat run city, its ok as long as the police are beating the "right sort", and keeping the Dems in power..... Austin PD apparently is almost about to collapse, and is having a very hard time finding recruits, but they are a liberal libtard communist city.
Murph Posted June 24, 2023 Posted June 24, 2023 And where is this? Looks justifiable to me: https://twitter.com/i/status/1672388925980278784

Democrat run cities don't have any other achievements to point to--keep crime down, repair street lights, fill potholes, pick up the garbage, clean off the sidewalks... I'd be almost willing to bet, they let bad cops exist to say they are 'reining in the ray-ciss po=leese'.
