Because Trump 2.0

Trump stood firm against the ICC and prevented the Anti-American, Anti-Freedom joke from persecuting American (and other) troops for combat action since 9-11. Good for Trump, the ICC, like 90% of international bodies is and always will be anti-American, and a joke, it is best we leave such to the European elites who love such things. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2019/04/15/on_trumps_icc_win_dems_and_republicans_see_eye_to_eye_140052.html

The end of the fake Mueller investigation, and the clearing of the President sure must be causing certain posters to have the vapors. Now the impending unmasking of the traitors who tried to overthrown our duly elected President look to possibly be facing criminal charges, which must further cause the vapors. Liberal tears, they make the coffee taste so much better.

The rats are afraid of having light shined on them as they tried to backstab the President. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/white-house-officials-concerned-about-being-exposed-mueller-report-n994861 Hopefully they will be told: "YOU'RE FIRED!". RSN.

I am hoping their full statements are available to Barr, for vetting. I've no doubt that some pitched some fiction due to aversion to Trump, some sang the requested song to avoid becoming a target of prosecution. However, if you are gonna play in the bigs, dishonesty should have a hefty price...

And some, one hopes most, answered the questions as best they could. It is quite likely that few or none are really nervous, but NBC expects that they must be for how could anyone not say Orange Man Bad?

I'm sorry Murph, but that's uninformed rubbish. If the US were a signatory of the ICC there would be no danger of US soldiers being prosecuted there because the ICC will only prosecute if the state accused is unwilling or incapable of doing so itself. So the US would have nothing to fear. At all.

I don't know the long term affect of this. This could just be another route to trouble. A recipient could treat it like an annuity a get lump sum cash for turning it over to a loan company. Then blow the cash amount on something and would in short order be without livable income.

I don't discount this possibility, but am cautiously optimistic that the number of Americans who would do so would be greatly outnumbered by those who would not, for an overall net benefit to societal functioning. I am also cautiously pessimistic that those who would do so are already fouling the social waters for everyone else in various ways. Either way, trialing it over graduated periods of time would provide useful information regarding how ready America and Americans are for policies that are dependent on the American public's exceptionalism and decision-making quality for their effectiveness.

That is how it is supposed to be but according to a German saying one is in the hands of God on the high seas and in court.

It would not be the n-th time that courts give themselves additional powers, wouldn't it?

Edit: The PLO has joined the court to have Israel prosecuted or shall I say persecuted, given that there are different standards for the Jew among the states. The USA is right to be concerned.

That being the case then there really is no need for the USA to participate in the ICC. Right?

Here is a case that illustrates the lack if procedural standards of the ICC. Usually the prosecution decides independently if they bring a case to a court or begin an investigation in the first place. The ICC judges can request the opening of an investigation.

You may guess once against what country they have done that repeatedly. To her credit the prosecutor stood her ground against the judges but the next might not.

Earlier this month the US visa of an ICC prosecutor was revoked when she attempted to investigate alleged war crimes in Afghanistan. https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/05/world/europe/us-icc-prosecutor-afghanistan.amp.html&ved=2ahUKEwj5xbqO89nhAhWK16QKHbDNBL8QFjABegQIARAB&usg=AOvVaw2-7gQyvu8o0L4aq2_YUzww&ampcf=1

Apparently the US and the ICC differ in what they perceive as war crimes.

Ben Shapiro's brief summary after reading the report:

My one-line takeaway: Trump and his campaign engaged in deeply embarrassing and immoral but non-criminal behavior. In attempting to avoid that embarrassment, Trump engaged in more deeply embarrassing and immoral but ultimately non-criminal behavior.

...

Every Trump scandal follows this pattern. It holds just as true for Stormy Daniels as it does for Russia and obstruction. Do something bad and embarrassing, then shield yourself with other bad and embarrassing behavior.

Immoral but non-criminal behavior!

In other words Trump is a ... politician. Oh, the horror. :)

I'm curious if his supporters will ever admit he can be bad and immoral. :P

I don't know many trumpers who will say he's a moral man. Most Trump fans I know see him as an imperfect vessel for the policies and attitudes they want.

I have said Trump is a piece of shit in a sea of shit for some time. You can go back through my comment history and find that exact quote from some time ago. Call me when Trumps detractors admit their lord and savior Obama as being a co-conspirator in a soft coup.

Why not? In order to be an effective politician he needs to be a bastard but as long as he's the bastard who looks after your interests.
