The climate events of 2022-24 have been “truly extraordinary”, notes Dr. Javier Vinós writing in Dr. Judith Curry’s online blog. The rare convergence of a number of events “that may not be repeated for hundreds or even thousands of years” represents a “unique learning opportunity” for climatologists. Interestingly, Dr. Vinós downplays the roll of the current El Niño. He says that the January 2022 Hunga Tonga underwater volcanic eruption, that boosted upper atmospheric water vapour by a remarkable 10%, is the most likely cause of the recent warming, which in turn led to an unprecedented three sudden stratospheric warming events. As the excess water leaves the atmosphere, observes Vinós, it will induce a cooling effect at the surface potentially lowering temperatures for the next three to four years.

Replace priest with paganist. Brilliant reply to the non-exist problem.

Journalists are priests they are creating, proselyting the new sacred values. CO2 is one of new evils. TV News are the mass for most persons, they teach what is a sin and what is a virtue.

Last month, the Securities and Exchange Commission released a new climate disclosure rule that would impose unprecedented reporting requirements on job creators in the U.S. The rule is the latest example of extreme climate activists pushing their agenda through the rulemaking process. If allowed to stand, this new regulation would not only stifle investment in America, but it would also threaten economic prosperity and punish the middle class.

The SEC’s almost 900-page rule requires extensive disclosures on carbon dioxide emissions and other theoretical climate risks. This includes emissions directly generated by a company, known as Scope 1, and indirect emissions produced because of purchasing energy, known as Scope 2.

Joya Patiha, a 43-year-old Indonesian transgender woman, first started to notice that changing weather patterns in the mountain-ringed city of Bandung were affecting her income as a sex worker a decade ago.

The rainy season was lasting longer across the West Java province, winds were stronger and in some particularly bad years Patiha lost up to 80% of her earnings.

Trans women like Patiha are among the most affected by extreme weather linked to climate change, as well as suffering disproportionately when disasters strike.

“No one is coming out during the longer rainy season,” said Patiha. “It is very hard to make money during that unpredictable weather.”

President Joe Biden’s new EV mandates will likely prove to be a sizable wealth transfer from rural red regions of America to urban blue sections, and to wealthy Democrats who reside in them, according to reports.

On March 20, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized its tailpipe emissions rules for the auto industry starting in 2027.
These rules are the strictest in history and will effectively force carmakers to have one-third of new car sales be plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) by 2027 and more than two-thirds by 2032.

This represents a dramatic increase from current EV sales, which were about 8 percent of the new car market in 2023.

Ethiopia bans import of gasoline powered vehicles

I'm sure Ethiopia has a strong electrical grid with total coverage of the country......

Ethiopia is right next to China on the Human Freedom Index;

According to the index, Ethiopia was ranked the 146th out of 180 countries in the world, and 33rd in the Africa region out of the 53 listed countries. Furthermore, between 2000 and 2020, Ethiopia's overall score was lower than the average for the African continent. Therefore, Ethiopia's economic climate is considered mostly unfree.

Seems like the tired old routine of keeping poor people poor.
