Steven P Allen Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I have no problems using coal. If the emissions could stand some scrubbing, well and good. But to not use an abundant, cheap, and readily available resource is just foolish. Our society is embarking on a suicide pact in the name of being Green. That the end will include massive reductions in the population of the country is a proverbial feature of the program. And spare me the Silent Spring references, please. Thoroughly discredited, and superseded by the advances in emissions reductions, anyway. We can use coal without recreating 19th century Britain.
rmgill Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) I would prefer to not use coal, but its better than non-existent sources or sources that are available at random fractional times. What blows my mind are s that we are deliberately raising prices by building systems that are 2/4 times more complex for no increase in reliability. Edited December 23, 2023 by rmgill
sunday Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Reliable energy is better than unreliable one.

Ssnake Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 If you want to advance biodiversity on this planet - a worthy goal! -, donate to Mossy Earth or something. "Investment" into biomes is probably not the way to go. Unless you're a banker with a plan for a money grab with a gullible audience.
