So basically you want to go on using coal and diesel, just to reinforce a point you feel very seriously about? You realise how crazy that sounds, right?

No, we'd like to use natural gas, nuclear, and diesel, but the climate psychos are destroying them.

People in China and India would like to start (in many cases) using coal and diesel. Perhaps all two billion of them are insane?

I have no problems using coal.  If the emissions could stand some scrubbing, well and good.  But to not use an abundant, cheap, and readily available resource is just foolish.  Our society is embarking on a suicide pact in the name of being Green.  That the end will include massive reductions in the population of the country is a proverbial feature of the program.

And spare me the Silent Spring references, please.  Thoroughly discredited, and superseded by the advances in emissions reductions, anyway.  We can use coal without recreating 19th century Britain.

I would prefer to not use coal, but its better than non-existent sources or sources that are available at random fractional times.

What blows my mind are s that we are deliberately raising prices by building systems that are 2/4 times more complex for no increase in reliability.

If you want to advance biodiversity on this planet - a worthy goal! -, donate to Mossy Earth or something. "Investment" into biomes is probably not the way to go. Unless you're a banker with a plan for a money grab with a gullible audience.
