rmgill
True. But by the same token, you MUST develop nations to get them out of various levels of poverty. Demanding that they go without so that the anointed can fly around to Climate Conferences and feel good about the CO2 levels isn't very ideal in my mind. Ssnake
For once, I welcome a Russian veto in the security council. Mixing one with the other is purely ideology driven. It'd be guaranteed to solve nothing that the security council is supposed to handle, and be almost guaranteed to stir trouble.

sunday
To that one correct decision, you may add supporting the Syrian Assad regime against Daesh when USA and UK were supporting the Turkish Sultan, and the "moderate" beheaders of infidels. What US,UK etc, wanted and probably will still achieve is that UN declaration would open the walls for new legislation which basically would put you in court, that by just "denying climate change" you are against peace and then all anti terrorist legislation, warfare rule book, hate legislation laws will be thrown at you. You doubt "climate change" you are a war supporter, against universal peace. Hague waits for you if you are big enough to upset them. It's easier to recover from environmental activism than from being poisoned. If you think this is only environmental activism you are not seeing the picture. It is for power, control and business. For example in about 10-20 years African countries would have been probably capable of building conventional cars. But "Complexifying" whole industries will make competition from smaller players impossible, they will disappear and weaker countries will be more dependent. Only big players can do "complexification": batteries, complex software management, AI, sensors for this and that etc. With enforced ending of conventional cars, Africa will have probably to wait decades for being able to produce a vehicle on their own. But no journalist says that green energy and climate change narrative is racist despite making starting up anything much more difficult. After the manufactured market of CO2 credits to move money from people that do things to the political economy( in this case regulators, certification companies), what will be the next useful molecule for the next invented trade market scheme? lucklucky
Quote The rise in coal-fire power generation undermines efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and potentially putting global coal demand on course for an all-time high next year, the International Energy Agency said in its latest annual market report. The jump in coal-fired power generation is attributed to “the rapid economic recovery.” After falling in 2019 and 2020, global power generation from coal is expected to jump by 9% in 2021 to an all-time high of 10,350 terawatt-hours, according to the IEA’s Coal 2021 report, which was released today. The steep rise in natural gas prices has also increased demand for coal power by making it more cost-competitive. New all time highs could be expected in 2022 Overall coal demand worldwide – including uses beyond power generation, such as cement and steel production is forecast to grow by 6% in 2021. That increase will not take it above the record levels it reached in 2013 and 2014. But, depending on weather patterns and economic growth, overall coal demand could reach new all-time highs as soon as 2022 and remain at that level for the following two years, underscoring the need for fast and strong policy action. 9% growth forecast in China In China, where more than half of global coal-fired electricity generation takes place, coal power is expected to grow by 9% in 2021 despite a deceleration at the end of the year. In India, it is forecast to grow by 12%. This would set new all-time highs in both countries, even as they roll out impressive amounts of solar and wind capacity. While coal power generation is set to increase by almost 20% this year in the United States and the European Union, that is not enough to take it above 2019 levels. Blame China, India “The pledges to reach net zero emissions made by many countries, including China and India, should have very strong implications for coal – but these are not yet visible in our near-term forecast, reflecting the major gap between ambitions and action,” said Keisuke Sadamori, Director of Energy Markets and Security at the IEA. “Asia dominates the global coal market, with China and India accounting for two-thirds of overall demand. These two economies – dependent on coal and with a combined population of almost 3 billion people – hold the key to future coal demand.” https://notrickszone.com

MiloMorai
PBS had an interesting documentary last night > Earth Emergency. Picking up where its predecessor, the short film anthology "Climate Emergency: Feedback Loops," left off, "Earth Emergency" paints a more hopeful picture of the future if warnings are heeded and changes are made soon. However, the film warns that if left unchecked, feedback loops amplify the threat of rising temperatures and speed up global warming in ways that many aren't aware of.—Variety Magazine Earth Emergency | PBS

sunday
It is known that the Earth's atmosphere is not a linear system, so modeling it is very difficult as there is chaotic behavior present. For an example of an extremely simple non-linear system that shows a chaotic behavior, see: Edited January 2, 2022 by sunday
