Starting Jan 1 it will be illegal to drive while holding a cell phone. Glad our politicians are protecting us from terrorists who hold cell phones while running down people while driving trucks.

On the other hand the deputy chairman of the SPD has demanded that potential terrorists be put in custody to secure deportation. Presumably for more than four days. Let's see if that becomes law before the elections.

There is a video with English subtitles of the head of German Police Union talking about the insane laws that enabled the attack.

people that are distracted while driving kill more people annually than terrorists driving amok.

Back to the Xmas market crashing Anis Amri. Investigation from german TV magazine Kontraste has found, that a police investigator faked his observation reports, because he did not actually watch Amri nor was phone surveillance carried out. The policeman wrote that there was no drug dealing seen and thus the case closed half a year before the Xmas market attack. Today it is known that Amri was heavy into dealing.

The City of Berlin house of Representatives has established an enquiry commitee to look into the lazy police work and the falsification of files.

We might have another one. Last topic on the radio news:

Hamburg: One dead and several wounded, after someone startedd stabbing other shoppers. So far no info on the perp in the MSM and the police say he was a so called "Einzeltäter"(lone attacker).

Stabbing+the phrase Einzeltäter+MSM mostly mum = terrorist attack highly likely

But we do! Palestinian terrorists act out of frustration over the occupation and the stalled peace process. So the media says over and over again.

The terrorist are really always the true victims.

It looks like we got another one.

Münster, Westfalia, around 15:00 hours. A vehicle drove into a crowd in the city center. Three dead, 30 wounded, the police considers this an attack. edit: The perp is said to have shot himself.

I don't know if it's related but Kurdish groups planned a larger protest today. They expected 1.5k to attend. In the past weeks they held rather tiny gatherings in front of the central station.

Driving into people is exactly the MO of Islamic terrorists but shooting oneself doesn't fit at all. So far terrorists usually exited the vehicles after the ram and used what weapons they had to kill the wounded.

In theory he could follow instructions of his masters to “not fall into enemy hands alive” to prevent leaking information about entire cell.

The Berlin attacker fled the scene after he got stuck on that Christmas market with the truck, presumably to fight another day. Just shooting yourself seems indeed unusual. I initially connected this incident to another vehicle driving into a crowd in Cottbus, Brandenburg which I had heard about on the radio one hour earlier, and thought it might be coordinated attacks. But upon checking I find the latter already happened last night, and police there are looking for a 25-year-old suspect who had reportedly already been drunk and in various altercations earlier that day, so probably not.

Latest is four dead including the driver, 20 injured, including six critically, and that a "suspicious item" in the van is being checked for explosives. Of course a lot of items will look suspicious in a vehicle that just drove into a group of people sitting outside a restaurant. It's probably not a bad approach to treat any information coming out within the next 24 hours as possibly wrong.
