TonyE Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 'International Brigade' doesn't sound too good - bad connotations and all that. And don't we need M47s? Yup, unfortunatly our prepositioned stock in Italy was discovered and confiscated years ago. We may still have the South Korean ones if they have not suffered the same fate.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Nothing very significant, but I thought it was interesting to see. Polish SA6 on exercise, looks like a new vid.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvjS3RSx_QE
swerve Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 With new equipment entering service, we may have an offer for you. If you are forming a Tanknet international brigade, sign me up. But Im not cheap. Well, not in THAT way anyway. You expect to be paided a bonus? (for there most part....) Wear plate . . . That,s "where plate" sport! Dunno what came over me. Well, at least I know how to spell mussel break.
Damian Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Nothing very significant, but I thought it was interesting to see. Polish SA6 on exercise, looks like a new vid.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvjS3RSx_QE It's from Anakonda 2016 excercises Stuart. SA-6's will be in use till "Wisła" and "Narew" systems will be fielded some time in future.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Thanks Damian. Well its no bad thing, I think the SA6 is a pretty good system for its age. Not sure if this has been published yet?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKyYX3Z7IOM

Stuart Galbraith Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Yes Chris, hilariously I have to admit I thought much the same thing. Thanks for that BTW. I have to say im distinctly impressed by the quality of the videos being put up on you-tube. Information warfare isnt just working one way it seems.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 Some good stuff here, other than the boring old secretary general.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 There Ill leave it at that, I dont want to be accused of spamming. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ddy-s2VG2g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06Cd5M9P7Gc

Simon Tan Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 The Turks. Please...carry handles and goofy helmets. In solidarity with Brexit I am having Orange Pekoe so no coffee keyboard.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) Erdogan cannot into FU Russia? Shame on you Simon. Yeah I cant say I was very impressed, hey look like bit part actors in a 70's episode of Dr Who with that kit. Urban camo would probably have been the last straw. Damian Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) http://vod.tvp.pl/25654469/25062016 Newest episode of "Nasza Armia" (Our Army) documentary. There is some video material from Anakonda 2016 excercises. There is also material showing preparations for NATO summit and how National Stadium is prepared for it. Edited June 26, 2016 by Damian
Simon Tan Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Im sure that a brigade of Turks in Lithuania will be well received.
Stuart Galbraith Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) Oh I dont know, I think the Lithuanian Forest brothers are not too worried whom they practice their skills on. Speaking of which, been reading this at the moment. A fascinating read, in pretty much the same measure of absolutely horrifying. A must read I think.https://www.amazon.com/Forest-Brothers-Anti-soviet-Lithuanian-1944-1948/dp/9639776580 Edited June 27, 2016 by Stuart Galbraith
Chris Werb Posted June 27, 2016 Author Posted June 27, 2016 I wonder.... What is your specific concern Simon?
Simon Tan Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Carry handles and goofy helmets aside, the Turkish brigade will certainly be an interesting logistical problem given the cultural differences. Even if 'western' oriented units are selected for the job. It is no longer the Kemalist bastion.
Simon Tan Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I noticed a distinct lack of ATGM firing on armor. Surely it would be a brilliant way to use up expiring TOW stock not being supplied to AQ. It would test APS and give armor the experience of facing and fighting ATGMs.
