Apparently it wasn't clear. I was noting that this was the Australia thread due to the point made about the English not having guns.  Hence my mostly throw away comment.

Getting into a purity spiral about the quality of the plays and how they're a basis for English language literature was exactly why I figured ironic references to Shakespeare were relevant, which is, I'm sure, why Coldsteel did the same to Blackadder which is itself a reference to Shakespeare. Which I found amusing and ran with.

In other words, Shush Penfold. Same for you Agent 57. Take care of that cold.

A far more appropriate level of discourse is the quality of the scripts for 'Allo, Allo', especially those involving Lt. Gruber.

But as he was only Wehrmacht, he doesn't quite fit. And that's aside from his "little tank" being a wheeled deathtrap of course.

Australians warned against surge in snakes and spiders

4h ago

A weather phenomenon in the Pacific means people in New South Wales are being plagued by snakes. The ambulance service is warning people to watch out.

The residents of the Australian state of New South Wales have been warned about a surge in snakes and spiders, thanks to weather patterns.

The La Nina weather phenomenon will create conditions for more encounters with snakes and spiders, leading to more bites and medical emergencies, according to the state's ambulance service.

"As we head into summer, NSW residents have been warned to look out for snakes and spiders as there has been an increase in bites across the state," St. John Ambulance NSW said on Friday.

"Australia has some of the most venomous snakes and spiders in the world. Time is critical when it comes to venomous bites, and they should be treated as a medical emergency," the head of the first aid service, Sarah Lance, was quoted as saying by various Australian media outlets.

New South Wales residents are the most likely in Australia to be bitten by snakes and spiders, according to official statistics. The creatures that pose the greatest threat are funnel-web spiders and the eastern brown snake.

On Thursday, the health minister of the neighboring state of Queensland was interrupted during a press conference by a huntsman spider scuttling on her foot. Huntsman spiders are harmless, but can grow to 12 centimeters (5 inches).

Melbourne is not Australia, neither is Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania (have you ever looked at a map of Tasmania and realised what it represented?),

Map of Tasmania - Uncyclopedia

nor is Western Australia or the Northern Territory.

New South Wales is all that matters......
