Now the Australian Parliament proposes to introduce Dominion vote counting machines...

Quote
Dominion Voting Systems (a Canadian company that sells ballot paper scanners)9 noted the issues with large scale manual counting of ballot papers and the advantages of electronic counting:

Publically scrutinized paper ballot tally procedures have traditionally been the most reliable and trusted means of determining the outcome of an election. In spite of this, manual counts are time consuming and prone to errors. The frequency of these errors increases with ballot complexity. The combination of complex ballots and late night counting can compound errors and delays. Electronic ballot counting offers equivalent levels of security, transparency, and anonymity while providing results in a timely manner. In addition, electronic ballot counters process ballots with complete accuracy. Transparency is further enhanced by the use of optical scanners that capture and retain images of each ballot scanned.10

Or warning the authorities that someone was playing golf without a mask.

Ha! My state is now 87% double vaxxed.  Numbers of cases and deaths are dropping.

Current 'punitive' regulations are:

>From Monday 8 November, the following applies to fully vaccinated adults, children under 16 and people with a medical exemption:

  • no limit on visitors to a home;
  • no rules for outdoor gatherings with fewer than 1,000 people;
  • indoor swimming pools will re-open for all purposes.
  • all premises to move to 1 person per 2 sqm rule, and nightclubs will be able to re-open dancefloors;
  • Caps will be removed for settings other than gym and dance classes (where the 20 person cap for classes will remain) and replaced by density limits; and
  • 100 per cent fixed seated capacity for major recreation outdoor facilities (including stadiums, racecourses, theme parks and zoos) and entertainment facilities (including cinemas and theatres).

COVID Safe check-ins and proof of vaccination will still be required.

Those who are not fully vaccinated must still abide by pre-roadmap restrictions until NSW reaches the 95 per cent double vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first.

The current settings for masks, which apply to everyone, will remain in place until NSW reaches the 95 per cent double vaccination target, or 15 December, whichever happens first.

So you were saying?

Then your state will be mainly "unvaccinated" in a fortnight, once the third jab becomes "not quite" compulsory.

Look at Israel.

Haters gonna hate.

At least we don't get imprisoned for chewing gum.

And we don't hang drug offenders.

This is more like the final part of Tolkien's The Return of the King than like Orwell's 1984.

For now.

But of course, writing about that is "hating the Australians". Yeah, right.

WTF has happened to Australia? Back in the late 1960’s with all the civil unrest here in the USA there was a lot of talk about Australia being the place to live, language was English, culture was similar and if I remember correctly immigration laws were favorable.

 I think I’d rather live in the Peoples Republic of China………

China controls most information that leaves the country. Abuses that are notably worse than anything seen in the media regarding AU's lockdown enforcement happen every day in China, but you rarely see much focus on it. You're getting every tale of overbearing actions from Aus.

Australia is a long way short of Tiananmen Square, and they're not in the habit of putting nine rounds into a bolshie wheelchair user, either.

Every tale? Are you sure? How do you know?

Naah. I'm sure the force used to keep people in those detention camps would just be showing them pretty pictures of wallabies and giving them beer.

That is not how you spell 'tongue', at least not in English.

No American actually HAS to come to Australia if they don't want our quarantine conditions.  Just the same as no Australian has to visit the USA with its insane gun 'laws'.

Two weeks in a quarantine facility?  Saves lives.

If you've got this quarantine thing going. How'd Omicron get there?

Mostly by people lying about where they had been before they got here, or not quarantining when they arrived as they agreed to, or lying about their vaccination status, yes, that sort of selfish uncaring unthinking behaviour.

A bit like giving a disturbed 15 year old boy a handgun for a Christmas present.

And there is also a certain amount of infection from aircrew, which is how the Delta strain arrived here in June.
