Marek Tucan Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Interesting news popped up on the interwebz today, so sharing... Since I like comics, kinda curious about how it will play out. LINK Dark Horse And Wargaming Team Up For World Of Tanks Comic Dark Horse Comics and Wargaming team up to bring a new comic series to life based on the free-to-play MMO World of Tanks. It will be available this fall. World of Tanks: Roll Out! is set during WWII, particularly focusing on tank battles that occurred in summer 1944 between British and German armored units. The comic will be written by Garth Ennies (War Stories, The Punisher) and Carlos Ezquerra (Judge Dredd, War Stories Vol. 2) will work on the illustrations, except for the covers, which will be done by Isaac Hannaford, a concept artist for games such as Halo: Reach.
Harold Jones Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I stopped buying comic books when the prices went to 50 cents.
Stefan Fredriksson Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Stuff seem to be lost in translation though.
Marek Tucan Posted April 26, 2016 Author Posted April 26, 2016 You mean from Northern-UIrish-Americanish to English?
Stefan Fredriksson Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 I mean, all calls for "idiot", "retard" etc, seem to have been translated to actual call-signs.
Tantalwz88 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Are the going to show hit-point bar above tanks .
DB Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Why do I get the feeling that this story is going to be a variant of the "but that's a prototype tank with a mild steel shell, not armour"?
FlyingCanOpener Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 There's already more production tanks in that page than in all of WoT combined.
Chris Werb Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Will the Cromwell in the comic simulate the historically authentic one in the game - you know, the one that travels at Mach 0.9, can take up to nine solid 75mm hits without degradation to performance, has auto lock on FCS, instant track repair, on board replacement main gun and engine etc.?
a77 Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 Looks pretty good. With tanks in that close formation during combat (last panel) Maybe it done becuse of the artistic reason, but it does not bode well for realism.

Wobbly Head Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 You do know there has been a British war comic series called commando comics that has been on going for over fifty years with the same style and stories https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commando_(comics) One of the artist above Carlos Ezquerra even worked for the company the only difference seems to be the panels are in colour. I'm not knocking the comic if they are similar the commando comics were quite entertaining some can be read here.http://view-comic.com/category/commando/

Stuart Galbraith Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Some of those Commando Comics really would translate well into movies. I can recall one where there is a haunted Sherman tank, where the ghost of the former commander assists the crew in combat and rides it into its last battle. The funny thing is, they were perceived as aggressive and pro war by many more liberal commentators. Having read many of them, it was notable to see a distinctly anti war theme in some of them. Though that didnt stop them blowing shit up.
