It seems that the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh is living its last days.....

Even Armeina itself is unwilling to recognise this republic - who else will?

Defence budget has been increased to $3.6 billion in revised 2023 state budget. An increase of 1.1 billion manat or $600 million.

I should note that usually actual spending exceeds budget, as one can see from example above. While $2.9 billion was budgeted for defence spending in 2022, actual spending ended up at $3.3 billion.

Leonardo: contract signed for C-27J to the Azerbaijan Air Force

The commercial collaboration between Italy and Azerbaijan has been strengthened with the signing of the contract for the supply of the C-27J Spartan. An Azerbaijani delegation was in Italy for the contract signing in the presence of representatives of the Defence Ministers of the two countries.

Initially linked to the energy sectors, the collaboration between Italy and Azerbaijan is now also extended to defence industry products thanks to the valuable contribution provided by the Italian Ministry of Defence working group. The programme for the purchase of the C-27J from Leonardo, a tactical transport aircraft with many years of proven experience in the most challenging operational scenarios, was finalized through a technical round table between the Italian Ministry of Defence and its Azeri counterpart. The agreement is part of the extensive modernisation programme of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, which are increasingly looking to the products of Italian industry.

Seems to be the improved Next Gen version. Do you know how many?

“Leonardo told Janes that it was unable to divulge details as to the number of aircraft involved in the deal nor the delivery timeline. It did note that the aircraft will be the Next Generation (NG) standard, which was launched in March and is now the new baseline configuration for all new customers.”

I think the establishment of Lachin border checkpoint solved the issue of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. Secession is a pipe dream now, in 5/10 years and forever.

Azerbaijan’s government says as much:
