Armenia Azerbaijan Conflict

The explicit threat being made is that the Azeris will attack Armenia itself, not just the disputed Karabakh region, if Armenia refuses Azeri demands.

If we take a look on original text of the article kindly provided by AtillA ( https://apa.az/ru/energetika-i-promyshlennost/prezident-azerbaidzana-revansistskie-sily-dolzny-znat-cto-eto-vozmozno-poslednii-sans-dlya-armenii-478668 ), it is not what was said

"The revanchist forces that sometimes raise their heads in Armenia  should know that this is the only way out for Armenia and, perhaps, the last chance."
According to APA, this was stated by President Ilham Aliyev during a speech at the V Congress of Azerbaijanis of the World in Shusha.
The Head of State stated that if they (Armenians) refuse to do this, then we (AZ) will also not recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia, we will officially declare it: "The Armenian side should understand well what this step will lead to, given the results of the Second Karabakh War."

So as for me it reads as follows: If AM side decides not to recognise Karabakh as part of AZ with all consequences of this recognition, but will somehow attempt to integrate remaining part still in AM hands, than AZ side is free to act by all means awailable, first and foremost military, to take this territory. I do not think it is aggressive statement (at least far less aggressive than Karabakh War-2 itself). More of a diplomatic warning from stronger side to weaker side.

Selçuk Bayraktar, CTO of Baykar, stated today that Azerbaijani UAV pilots undergo training on Akıncı UCAV, meaning that Azerbaijan is one of the export customers of Akıncı.

Reporter: Contract was signed today. Are we talking about joint production of Akinci or purchase (by Azerbaijan)?

Selçuk Bayraktar: Azerbaijan will procure them in first stage. In next stage we plan to develop both TB2 and Akinci technologies in Azerbaijan.

Friend is visiting Azerbaijan again, which means your military has decided to acquire 50km range Grad rockets or at least has serious interests in them.

I remember that Azerbaijan and Serbia signed a defence industry agreement some months ago, either late 2021 or early 2022.

What was experiance with Spike missile

Spike LR, ER, NLOS were extensively used, with good results. Plenty of footage.

Commander of this Spike ER unit says that only his unit destroyed more than 100 enemy targets throughout the war.

Note, Sandcat vehicles with Spike ER launchers are under Artillery Troops, so they are not mere tank destroyers but also provide indirect fire to friendly units (total of 10 missiles can be stored inside the vehicle).

Azerbaijan MoD statement:

Members of illegal Armenian armed formations in the territory of Azerbaijan, where the Russian peacekeeping contingent is temporarily deployed, grossly violated the provisions of the Statement of November 10, 2020, and committed a terrorist and sabotage act against the Azerbaijan Army Units on August 3. Serviceman Kazimov Anar Rustam became Shehid as a result of the terrorist and sabotage act.

Moreover, members of illegal Armenian armed detachments attempted to seize the Girkhgiz high ground, located on a mountain range covering the territory of the Kalbajar and Lachin regions, and establish new combat positions there.

As a result of the “Revenge” retaliatory operation conducted by the Azerbaijan Army Units, the Girkhgiz high ground, including Saribaba and several advantageous high grounds along the Karabakh range of the Lesser Caucasus Mountains were taken under control. Currently, Azerbaijan Army Units are carrying out engineering work on the establishment of new positions and laying supply roads on advantageous frontiers.

During the operation, several combat positions of illegal Armenian armed detachments were destroyed, and an airstrike was inflicted on a military unit stationed in the Yukhari Oratagh settlement of the former Aghdara region. As a result, the manpower of illegal Armenian detachments was annihilated and wounded, as well as several D-30 howitzers, military vehicles and a large amount of ammunition were destroyed.

The Republic of Azerbaijan has repeatedly stated that the presence of Armenian armed forces and illegal Armenian armed formations in the territories of Azerbaijan, where peacekeepers of the Russian Federation are temporarily stationed, remains a source of danger contrary to the Joint Statement. The demilitarization of those territories, the complete withdrawal of Armenian troops, and the disarmament of illegal Armenian armed detachments are absolutely necessary.

The Ministry of Defense hereby declares that following the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, any terror and provocation committed in the sovereign territories of the country will be resolutely prevented and countermeasures will be even more crushing.

Basically, Azerbaijani MoD says that Russian peacekeepers must completely disarm the illegal armed groups (so-called “arsakh defence force”) in their zone of responsibility, otherwise Azerbaijan itself will have to take action.

Another development is with regards to Lachin corridor. A new road is being built by Azerbaijan right now (near completion), which will replace the current Lachin corridor (the current corridor runs along the town of Lachin. This new one will bypass Lachin, hence the town will be returned to Azerbaijan’s control). Armenian side claimed yesterday that Azerbaijan put forward a demand through Russian peacekeepers on “organizing the movement along the new road”.

I’m guessing Azerbaijan wants to put Azerbaijani military posts along the new road, alongside the Russian peacekeeper ones.

Thanks for that! I really dislike Southfront, as it's easy to imagine, but nobody else seems to bother with creating a decent map of the current events in Karabakh.

Azerbaijan is opportunistically using Russia's preoccupation elsewhere to very gradually subdue and capture the rest of NK, which had been left in rather weird and probably untenable configuration after the ceasefire with a poorly connected central Armenian enclave. One wonders whether the concurrent Iranian moves are all show, or not.
