Have you had Huy Fong/Rooster?

Bought a bottle years ago. Does it not have glutamate?

The chinese food shop in my city has only limited selection, sadly. They have mostly goose brand in lots of variations for sale. So I am stuck with that.

Sadly no, if you mean the famous Coupe. The last production years are said to be partly tin plated. But that may be rumour and wishful thinking. But I guess most of the Coupes were parked under roof. So rust should not he that much of a problem.

The first fully tin-plated Audis were the 100/200 and 80/90 models beginning production in 1985. Sales starting early'86. Of course there are quattro versions of these.

oh, i´d love to have a audi 200 quattro, or avant quattro, the cigar-shape. old audi 80, before it turned a4 was fantastic little car too, i think it´s the only car in estonia i´ve yet to see with rust - we heavily salt our roads in winter, and these 20-year old thingies are still somewhat represented on our roads

The magic of tin plating. ;)

Porsche started it in mass production with their model 924. Actually in the Porsche factory the Audi bodies were plated in the eighties and nineties.

Is that so? So a Quattro of that period should be relatively rust free?

(checks pennies in piggy bank)

should´nt you be more Austin Metro man, if rally cars is the theme? with union jack on bonnet/rof of course? :)

No MSG in Rooster Sriracha. Just checked the bottle in the fridge. Get Rooster. Nothing else is the same.

Minis don't rally. Then you have the hideous Countryman....OMG

What would the Western media do without the bad guy "Nazi" tropes to turn to? Thanks Germany for giving liberal media minions a politically safe catch all bad guy for their plot developments from movies, tv shows, books, and video games.

No. The manufacturers of the real Mini followed it with a car called the Maxi. Efficient use of space (like the Mini), but ugly as sin.

The BMW car which is labelled 'Mini' is bigger than the Maxi. All models are taller, wider & heavier, & they vary from slightly shorter to slightly longer. They start at almost twice the weight of the original Mini, & go up from there.

I think that BMW got a bit confused & accidentally mislabelled the first ones, & were then too embarrassed to admit it so dropped the original plan to call it the Maxi. :)

MSG is a natural food flavour. It occurs naturally in high concentrations in a lot of fermentation products (e.g. soy sauce), dried mushrooms, & lesser but still significant levels in lots of foods, e.g. tomatoes..

You can only avoid it completely by avoiding a lot of very tasty entirely natural foods.

of course. That's the whole point of soy sauce or shiitake or chicken soup. But added glutamte I can do without. And many sauces, potato crisps and what not have it added.

@simon thanks for the tip on the rooster brand. I am gonna buy some if I can find it. :)

And to turn it back to german food: mustard mixed with one of these garlic-chili sauces is totally awesome with Bratwust.

The new Mini has as much to do with the Mini as the new Beetle has with the original Volkswagen. That is apart from an exterour inspired by the old car pretty much nothing. Oh and leeching on the fame of the original.

Germany: some 30 people at homeopathic conference suffer apparent amphetamine poisoning

BERLIN (AP) — Authorities say emergency workers called to a conference center in northern Germany found some 30 people staggering and suffering from cramps, apparently as a result of amphetamine poisoning.

The local government said 15 ambulances and a helicopter were sent to the scene Friday in the small town of Handeloh, south of Hamburg, the dpa news agency reported.

Fire service spokesman Matthias Koehlbrandt told broadcaster NDR the group was aged between 25 and 55. NDR reported they were alternative and homeopathic practitioners, and that they were taken to the hospital.

Authorities said their preliminary finding was that the group was poisoned with amphetamines, but Koehlbrandt said they didn't knowingly take the substance.

Normally gun shops have a more demure and boring (or square) look. Named something like "Waffen Maier" or something similarly boring. And the shop window decorated with hunting knifes, outdoor clothing, airsoft guns etc.. Very rarely a few hunting rifles. I guess this gunshop adapted to the environment.

But a gun shop in the redlight district all by itself is funny. The "gun free zone" is icing. :D

From my passing look, the guns in the window were all of the gas/blank variety, along with a shedload of flashy knives, swords, etc.; definitely adapted to the expected posers customers. I doubt they even carry real guns.

Of course the guide on the Tango-class sub exhibited in the port I was headed for, after a look at all the pouches on my belt, asked me if I had a knife somewhere in there, and when I said yeah, on my Leatherman tool, he advised me to put it way back if I was going to visit the Kiez due to the security zone and possible consequences of a control. I told him I had seen the signs, and the gunshop too, to which he replied with an eyeroll, well, purchase cannot be banned ...

I hadn't even thought of my Leatherman when I went past the signs, or studied them closely enough to note the posted pocket knife; only saw that when I studied the picture afterwards, which I only snapped after I saw the gunshop and went back for pictures of both with a giggle (this was right in front of the Davidswache police station, no less). I wouldn't even have strayed so far from the port if I hadn't been looking for an ATM and the first one indicated by Google Maps turned out to be gone, then was going the shortest route to my destination. Minding random curiosity regulations in my way couldn't really be expected of me. :D
