They drive like crap though. Remember an issue of wheels and tracks, where they drove the tank museums MkIV, and although there was 4 men driving the damn thing, they were amazed how little control they had over where they were going. It was about 70 years old at that point of course.

I have to say I really went off Emma Watson when she started criticizing JK Rowling (and worse, not refusing to do a Harry Potter retrospective without JK Rowling), when I heard that Emma Watson was very nearly canned after the first film, and it was only JK's personal intercession that allowed her to keep the job. Which, considering how Watson's career has stalled since, she was damn lucky to get.

Im not sure  JK is so much is the darling of the right, as despised and derided by both left and right in turns. Which, rather like George Orwell, to me suggests she is probably onto something of the middle ground here.

There was an interesting article, wholly anti JK here, which is nonetheless worth reading. If her argument is that a women is solely defined biologically, I think she is completely right, even if some of her reasoning to that end is suspect. it would I think be helpful if there was a definiation of a 3rd sex, if only to stop some of the more egregious abuses of sports occurring.

No, its a surgical fact that its no long true, just like virgin births are no longer the prerequisite of God either.

Maybe im old fashioned enough to remember that locking down on peoples rights was supposed to be the balliwick of the left. But today the new right have captured the pretence, locked it in goosestep with religious teaching as justification, and try to export their narrow minded dogma to the rest of the world.  Frankly im just bloody glad all the Puritans pissed off to the new world,so we dont have to live in thrall to the buggers politics anymore.

I say all this, despite myself being deeply uncomfortable with the language of 'Non Binary'. I struggle to reconcile or understand it myself. But I tolerate it, solely because I remember mankind must be forced to be free. If being free means that old farts like myself have to look at the world in different ways, because the younger generation see flaws in it, Im happy to swallow my pride and do it. Its called progress, and if it turns out not to be progress, then it wont stick anyway.

Now can we leave it there, or are we going to be forced to endure another lecture on how much better America has it than anyone else and how everyone should be exactly like them. Its like tanknet got took over by the fucking Borg or something.
