I was thinking the other day, in a battle between the Vogons and Central services, who would win? I guess they woudl all implode into a black hole due to the dense concentration of paperwork, kinda like the end of the first series of Lexx.

As ive patiently explained before, there is not one Conservative party, but several. There is the friendly, well meaning business supporting ones. There is the fuck business, im with financial services guys. There is the authoritarian, lets take away their freedoms so they dont overthrow us guys. And there is the 1955 conservatives, whom want to turn the country back to an analogue of what they remember when they were growing up (vestiges of Empire, a huge Navy, no black people). And lets be fair, there is a considerable amount of overlapping in some areas between all of those positions, and other minority ones (Such as the group that believes actually defending the country properly is a good idea).

There are no socialists in the Conservative party. There are certainly guys I agree with, like Tom Tugenhat, and before he was brutally purged, Rory Stewart. There was a moderate wing of the Conservative party, and as often as I disagreed with them, I also respected them. Most of those got purged, because they were opposed to Brexit and Bojo's leadership, quite rightly as it turned out. And, just like the Republican party that purged everyone that wasnt a carpet biting, mouth drooling Trump humper, the Conservative party is going to have to get a lot of them back to find a way forward. Either that, its almost certainly going to fragment, at least into two, probably more parties.  Its like watching someone with Shizophrenia not receiving treatment. Sooner or later they are going to get sectioned for their own good, not to mention everyone elses.

The nearest the Conservatives got to Socialism was Lee Anderston. In case people have missed it, Farage is forming a new party called 'Reform' (which is a bit of a laugh considering its full of reactionary twats, but there we are). The most interesting acquisiton recently was a guy whom was originally with Militant Labour (A sort of pre corbynista you might say) whom defected to the Conservative party and became party treasurer IIRC after labour suspended him in 2018. He claimed it was because of the 'hard left' takeover of the Labour party. He then was suspended from the Conservatives in February this year, after agreeing with Suella Braverman when she said '"The truth is that the Islamists, the extremists and the antisemites are in charge now". After sitting for a while as an independent, he then joined reform, after openly admitting they bribed him with an £80000 salary.

"Aufprallen" (as a substantivized verb, in this case) refers, usually, to a non-ballistic impact of a body (like a car accident) - though if you want to be flowery in your expression, I guess it still counts. Otherwise it's passable. A "Kanonier" is, specifically, an Artillery gunner.

If you meant to write "Gunner, Target (hit), Cease Fire" in a direct fire engagement the best translation might be "Richtschütze, Trefferblitz (or Ziel vernichtet), Feuer einstellen!"

I dont have to believe UKIP are fascist. I certainly am capable of believing they are wholly incompetent arseholes whom buggered my country up with pure merchantilist ideology. But then, the right have been doing that to my country since 1979, its not much of a departure.

As for taking the piss, there was a very clear tell in my post, but as usual, you were so desperate to pick out the class enemy and have a rant to notice. And in doing so, you filled out precisely the point I was making.

As for impugning my country, whether in meriment or other, I personally really dont care. If you find amusement in the pratcheteque political girations of my country, then good for you. So do I. Doubtless when the throbbing hoardes  of UKIP and English Defence league liberators storms our parliament like a Sergei Eisenstein spectacular, you wil find in it as much entertainment in it as we did as when your Confederates and Neo Nazi's  stormed yours.
