So what's the deal with Corbyn? Our media present him as slightly to the Left of Lenin ;)

Well, Labour of late has been doing their part to appear as close to the Tories as possible, so I guess Comrade Corbyn will be a return to the mean. :)

Nothing of late about it mate, Labour has been doing that since the late 1990s when St Tony of Blair managed to make Labour electable by locking the likes of Corbyn firmly in a box away from the gaze of the electorate and pretending they'd invented something new called the "Third Way". Labour got the kicking they did at the last two elections not least because over a decade in power the Tory clothes "New" Labour had appropriated had become so threadbare the electorate could see the reality of what lurked beneath and they didn't like it or want it.

Fellow travellers like Billy Bragg (the millionaire socialist) and blinkered useful idiots always play the "not left wing enough" card to excuse this fact because they are mentally and ideologically incapable of acknowledging that the electorate knew fine well what they were/are selling and they simply didn't want any part of it because it only ever goes one way; personally I never cease to be amazed at the number of otherwise sane and sensible folk who either cannot or will not grasp the enormity of the damage done to this country by Labour between 1997 and 2010, and don't understand it will take at least three Parliaments to make a dent in clearing up the mess.

Consequently you're right about Corbyn's election being a return to the Labour mean, as it will likely render Labour unelectable for the foreseeable future, which is a good thing altho there are two downsides. First, this will leave the Tories without an effective opposition, which is not a good thing because the Westminster system needs a strong & coherent opposition to function properly. Second and prolly more importantly, younger folk may be taken in by Corbyn's attractive pixie dust nonsense because they have no memory of the reality of life under loons like Corbyn, having been brainwashed into thinking all past evils were solely due to St Margaret of Thatcher the Milksnatcher...

They forgot him inviting Gerry Adams to Westminster not long after the Brighton Bombing in 1984and his holding a minute'e silence silence for the PIRA scum shot in Gibraltar in 1987. And he's just invited his "comrades" Gerry & Martin to Westminster for coffee again:

Another nail in Labour's electoral coffin I think. But that's what happens when you elect a "radical" student-politics ideologue who has never had a proper job or political appointment in several decades sitting in Parliament and whose sole claim to fame is standing against his own party several hundred times.

Britain needs more primetime Tony. ^_^

He tried that during the last General Election is support of Labour, and again during the Labour leadership election in support of anybody but Corbyn. As you can see from the results of his primetime efforts, Britain was really impressed...

...

And in yet more political news, Britain runs out of Sperm. :)

http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/sep/13/why-the-uk-sperm-bank-is-running-short

I dont know if this is predictable or what....

Entirely predictable Mike, there is nothing on telly of a Saturday evening. :)

There hasn't been anything worth watching on UK Saturday nite TV since the mid-1980s, and only then if The Professionals was on. :)

Hell, if this guy gets to run the country, this here Urop'n doesn't want the UK in the EU. :angry2:

That would suit me fine mate, along with a growing majority of my countrymen & women I suspect. Altho the way you lot are going you'll be out of the EU too and part of the Caliphate.

That aside, I would have thought Comrade Corbyn would fit right in at the EU, it being peopled predominantly with water melons and all. :)

Comrade Corbyn would be insulted by suggestion that he's red only inside.

Re Caliphate part, it's not like the UK is doing much better in this regard.

Ref the first bit, fair one. :)

Ref the second bit, last time I checked Call Me Dave hasn't invited the c.3-5,000 representatives of the Ummah camped out at Calais to come on in and give their mates a shout too, whereas Ms Merkel has invited up to a million who are currently arriving or inbound as just the first tranche, and has had to backtrack by closing the border with Austria and putting the Bundeswehr on alert even though German law precludes them becoming involved in riot control or worse. And that's without mentioning the threats to deport the non-Syrian, the rioting and dire warnings from the local authorities that they have neither the space, infrastructure or money to cope with the influx. So while I'd very much agree the UK is not doing much better in the long term, in the immediate term I'd argue the opposite is true. :)

This collection by the BBC does not read as if Corbyn was to introduce the people's democratic united soviet republics of england, wales, scotland and northern ireland (PDUSREWSNI :D). From about a month ago:

What is Jeremy Corbyn's programme for government?

left leaning, but no red flag waving revolution to create the worker's paradise.

Meanwhile the mud slinging starts. Jewish newspaper of course calls him an antisemite.

Some of his associates seem not the most sensibly chosen.

I still think the idea for renationalising the railway has got legs, no matter what the dogma of the day says. After all, if you can have an effectively nationalised passenger railway in that most freemarket of nations, the USA, then why cant we?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amtrak

After all, we already own the Railway infrastructure which is a point both Labour and the Conservatives seem to miss....

You lot don't have the money to piss away like we do. Amtrak costs the taxpayer billions per yr. S/F....Ken M
