Mr King Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I like to replace sauerkraut with kimchi in some dishes. Goes awesome on bratwurst for instance.
JasonJ Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I like to replace sauerkraut with kimchi in some dishes. Goes awesome on bratwurst for instance. Will keep that idea in mind
Panzermann Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 if you want blood, do it right. Actually Sauerkraut and kimchi are both fermented cabbage and not totally different. The asian shop near my significant other's place is run by koreans. I should look for.some kimchi for the next barbecue...
bojan Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Actually Sauerkraut ...Speaking of it, Germany can not hold a candle to Balkan's mastery with sauerkraut. Podvarak, need I say more?
Mr King Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 I don't know if this is sacrilege, but I like to give my sauerkraut a good rinse before cooking with it in a dish. Just mellows the flavor out. Though if I am using it for a topping, I like it straight out of the package.

Looks similar Székely Gulyás without sour cream, crème fraîche or smetana. Cannot taste bad. I'll give it a shot next time I have the time to spend for a stew.

M48A5K Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Kimchi taste great when it's stir fried or served as stew. Just ate kimchi jiggae for lunch, and it was terrific as usual. Maybe I should go for soondubu jiggae tomorrow.
JasonJ Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Soondobu jiggae..... Thanks! Kimchi taste great when it's stir fried or served as stew. Just ate kimchi jiggae for lunch, and it was terrific as usual. Maybe I should go for soondubu jiggae tomorrow. I'm not sure if I ever had it stir fried yet. Maybe I had it as a stew once before without realizing it was kimchi in it.
Sikkiyn Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Korean Starcraft.. When Starcraft 2 was announced: Also, it's a Korea thread, and there needs pix of Korean girls (no matter if some of them have went under the knife): Aaaaaaaaand: Korean girls were never this nice when I was in my 20's......hmmmmm Who cares about Kimchi.... Looking for my dang passport....

swerve Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Sakura! I was in Japan in April, & there were a lot of people sitting around with beer & picnics, getting lightly dusted with petals.
JasonJ Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Probably my favorites from Korea https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp363npAK_o Psy's Gangnam Style is good but, to me at least, its been over played all over in different variations and all, actually kind of tired of it, but it's a good one, definitely of classic caliber. Kara's Mister is of course a good one and Girl's Generation's genie I also like.
M48A5K Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 #34 of yesterday's Suneung(College Scholastic Ability Test) English section. The answer is 'the approval of his contemporaries,' but only 24% of 630k students got it.
JasonJ Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Just a little more than 1 out of 5 chance. The students probably had little time for doing the problem as well and the context of the whole passage is needed.
FlyingCanOpener Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Not too hard. Plenty of textual evidence to support choice 4. Common Core types would absolutely love that question.
M48A5K Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) Level of difficulty is becoming easier in last few years. Still many students find it hard. Originally, typical 'fill in the black' question was like this. Not so useful in real world. Edited November 13, 2015 by M48A5K
FlyingCanOpener Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 That question makes your average academic research paper seem concise and easy to follow.
JasonJ Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) It may depend on the kind of students being tested. For the average college student, it's kind of a waste. It also may depend on the design of the test. There's typically easy questions, medium level questions, and hard questions, for each section. As a hard question among many questions of different level of difficulty, it might be ok. Certainly would be too much if all questions on the test were like that. Edited November 13, 2015 by JasonJ
