I remind you of Ukraine 2013-2014. Just after the revolution that removed Russia from power and allowed Ukrainians to self-rule, Russia invaded and took Crimea and Donbas, practically unopposed.

I'm sorry but it is some sort of alternative history. Russia was not in power in Ukraine at any moment since 1991 - more over, Russian Federation itself was (and to great extent still is) controlled by West. Ask your fellow citizen Chubais.

Israel seems to maintain 7 bases in the new buffer zone in Syria.

All but 1 are within the Bravo line. The one outside the line is labeled as "Tel Kudna". For those less familiar, in semitic languages "Tel" means mound, so it is a high ground with strategic importance.

Aside from the mount Hermon base, I assume all bases were picked to provide better line of sight into Syria, to increase detection capability of hostile organization.

Offtopic: Tel are artificial mounds, created by building settlements on top of the ruins of another, many times over until it accumulates considerable height.

Are these tels being explored for archaeological reasons?

While it's under military control, no. And I doubt the Syrians had any interest in archaeology, except donating specimens.

Bullet points are that

- 75% of the Iranian ballistic missiles in the 2nd strike hit their targets.

- that there are over 100 underground missile factories in Iran.  Claims that older missiles in inventory are being upgraded for precision strike while new production is proceeding at full speed.

Israel Trolls Nasrallah’s funeral.

Jets fly above as the funeral goes on

It is interesting people in Western media bubble are mostly focused on "trolling" while the real remarkable thing is the scale of ceremony (claimed to be up to 1.5 mln attending despite of obvious deadly risk) https://t.me/infomil_live/15270

Not so much a risk. Maybe because they know the west doesn’t murder women and children put of hand.

I'm affraid they are exactly the people who know West do not care. But let's leave it like this, Arab members could raise their point here themselves if they would like to.

I would not want to have been high ranking or very loyal foot solider to the old regime. Never fun for those types when the regime changes. Wonder if Russia will ask to be able to take these people as refugees back to Russia?

Meanwhile, EU de-facto approved the actions of new "Syrian authorities"

Nobody in the West were thrilled with the new leader in Syria, but were also shocked at the scale of butchery by Assad. For the new Regime they offered carrots with a lot of strings attached, these events will effect how much aid Syria may get.

Also hard to tell how much control over his forces does he have. Some rumours that Iran helped instigate this to disrupt things. It may take a Arab peace keeping force to patrol the Alwaite regions to avoid anymore of this.

Why not patrol Damascus to make sure new democratic leaders (former moderate headcutters) behave themselves? Currently they are shooting at obviouly unarmed and civilian protestors

"When we look at the people who bravely came out in Damascus to protest against the bloody massacre, we see women without hijabs and men without Wahhabi beards, dressed in ordinary clothes without any embroidery. They don't dance national dances, they don't shout ritual songs in wild voices.

And that is why they are doomed to destruction.

Modern basic ideology (which, unfortunately, has deep roots in Russia) teaches that these ordinary people - the heavy legacy of the era of colonialism and immerialism - are much less important than a savage cannibal with a Wahhabi beard or a nose ring. Because the savage embodies a unique culture, without which the world will become poorer, and these people represent imperialist unification.

To increase one's competitiveness in the modern world, it is absolutely necessary to belong to some unique culture, the more unique and cannibalistic the better. You will be immediately bombarded with gifts and any crimes will be forgiven.

And only a disgusting Nazi who denies the equality of cultures can say that savages need to be civilized." https://t.me/historiographe/18656

Oh no, Russian crocodile's tears!

You're just shocked that it happens to the people that you previously helped to slaughter the other 80% of the population. Your throne of bayonets collapsed, this is what happens. It is a tragedy, sure, but of all the people here on Tankent you're the last who should offer his unsolicited opinion on this matter. You were quite okay with much bigger atrocities committed by Assad's Alawite-lead government, directly supported by Russian troops.

Thank you for providing timely illustration for the text below:

"The ancient Romans, who knew a lot about genocides, including on the lands of Syria, said everything about the bloody events in Syria.: Vae victis

Woe to the vanquished.

Three months ago, the Alawites and others like them decided not to fight for Assad, in fact, they agreed to admit defeat. And now they are reaping the natural fruits of the status of the defeated in the Middle East... Especially in the Middle .East.

Russian army and Wagner's Russians have been giving them both a shield and protection for ten years.  Russians were distracted by more pressing issues of Russian geopolitics, but the Alawites couldn't cope. Indications that they suffered too many losses in the previous years of the long civil war cannot justify their choice in December, because now there will be even more losses and corpses....

Vae victis.

P.S. And about the natural reaction of the most democratic and humane West, which is lifting sanctions from the new owners of Syria under the blood of genocide...

The West will be a little quiet now, since there is not a propaganda's Bucha... But a little later, when the Alawites are almost cut out, and the agreements needed by the Western elites are pushed through with the new authorities, there will be a chorus of condemnation and moralizing from the West. In particular, to make it easier to put pressure on the new Syrian authorities in terms of fulfilling their colonial obligationshttps://t.me/alter_vij/3638

If you are just normal people, do not expect any support from the West. It is exactly the same in the Russian civil war, where the west decided to side with the Nazis, in Syria it sided with the Islamist...

Pro-Russian reaction

"TASS – wait a minute, the oldest state news agency of the Russian Federation – calls the militants of radical structures in Syria "security forces", and those whom they enthusiastically cut, wiping their bloody hands on their trousers, are supporters of Assad.

Are you sure that if Christians and Alawites are not supporters of Assad, then the "security forces"-bloodletters will not touch them?

What can a naive and inexperienced person think about the subtleties of politics and other excesses? Is it really about the fact that the Russian news agency TASS legalizes the terrorists of ISIS and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, which are banned in Russia? How can this be, you may ask.

Amazing times and customs. Many thought that only the West was "famous" for such metamorphoses. Alas. And we have "oddities" in abundance.

Just like in old Soviet comedy, there is one question: "Are ours really ours?".

And how our current government called Bandera follower its partners !
How they tried with all its might to hand over the Russians of LDNR to Kiev !
And only the efforts of the entire Russian public prevented this !
But what was the price of this?"

Enough control to use "new goverment" tank forces to assist this genocide. Note the guy filming is speaking Russian (saying "The fun is to continue, AllaAkhbar") - probably, he is one of thise "freedom fighters" from Causasus or Central Asia https://t.me/infomil_live/15707
