I sometimes have a vision of Russians having finally had enough, storming the Kremlin and hanging the old bastard off the Kremlin wall by his entrails. That would be a suitably Russian response, and even Thomas Harris couldnt write a more suitable ending. Unfortunately, I just dont think they have in them anymore. I think the most likely evolution would be his being poisoned, and replaced by some other mediocre ex Col from the Valley of the Clueless. Its seemingly the modern Russian way.
