JasonJ Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Before the dinosaurs, in 1913, Rite of Spring and its performance was a huge hit. Was always my favorite part in Fantasia as a kid. Music is fantastic.Â
swerve Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 The start always ends a shiver up my spine. Only problem with listening to it is that all through I know what note is coming next.
JasonJ Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015  Before the dinosaurs, in 1913, Rite of Spring and its performance was a huge hit. Was always my favorite part in Fantasia as a kid. Music is fantastic.   if you havent seen it, the BBC did a pretty good dramatisation of the first production of Rite of Spring. Not only is it fantastic to look at, the bit where the audience riots because its freaking them out is genuinely hilarous. Though probably it was not as funny at the time.    I hope the video is still up by the time I get around to checking it out, I don't want to skim and jump, thus spoiling it

Panzermann Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 now for something with more seriousness: Interesting essay(?) from Rostislav Ischenko: http://oko-planet.su/politik/politiklist/301881-rostislav-ischenko-rossiya-v-nevidimoy-voyne.html english: http://thesaker.is/russia-in-an-invisible-war/ Russia in an invisible war How could Russia in just 20 years, without wars or other perturbations, rise from a semi-colony to an acknowledged world leader, equal among the top ones? Â
toysoldier Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I read that... all the time waiting for the "Gotcha! Poe´s law! In your face, suckah!" Then i got to the part of Mr. Ischenko being an analyst for Russia Today, and i felt so played, so violated...

Still tells something about his and russia's leaders self-image and world view.
Roman Alymov Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Still tells something about his and russia's leaders self-image and world view. Actually it got nothing to do with leadership, but one of numerous discussions typical for majority of pro-Russian internet: "Is Putin traitor, or weak pro-western oligarch puppet only concerned about preserving good relations with West to preserve oligarchs money in Western banks and their kids in elite Western schools, or just moderate leader caring about state interests and not falling into extremes". What most Westerners fail to understand is Putin seen as moderate (sometimes too moderate) leader by many if not most people in Russia.

Successor to President? Are you kidding? Unfortunatelly this news is fake (or at least he was not badly injured so able to stand and walk) but it was sort of cheered in Russian Internet as this man not popular. My comment on him earlier http://www.tank-net.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=40749&p=1214832
