DB
Hmm. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-53214259 I note they say nothing about the other potential sources of nuclear power in the NW, just the civilian plants.

bd1
Thousands of people have taken part in protests in Russia's far east over the arrest of a regional leader. They marched to the regional government in Khabarovsk shouting slogans against President Vladimir Putin.Khabarovsk governor Sergei Furgal was detained on Thursday, accused of having ordered the killing of several business people 15 years ago.Mr Furgal defeated the candidate of Mr Putin's United Russia party in elections two years ago.His party, the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democrat Party of Russia, is usually seen as loyal to the Kremlin. But correspondents say Mr Furgal's victory was seen as a blow to United Russia's grip on power in the regions, and he is a popular figure in the far east. In 2018, Mr Furgal beat the Kremlin's chosen candidate for governor by a landslide. He's proved popular locally, cutting the number of civil servants and putting the governor's yacht up for sale. Now he's facing a murder charge, from his pre-political days in the murky world of metals trading. Mr Furgal's supporters want to know why the authorities waited until now, though, 15 years later to arrest him.The protests were not authorised and in Khabarovsk the meeting point had been taped-off overnight, supposedly for Covid 19 disinfection. But the crowds marched in any case, and the police - on this occasion - didn't intervene.either clash of two criminal clans, kremlin´s and local or putin stomping on local leadership? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-53373132

Quite likely we will see this cleanup to continue as Russian political elites are full of people with roots in 1990th, when Western-supported "democrats" were looting Russia and were not shy of direct crime. Now they pretend to be respected political leaders and patriots, but their real nature is well known. Thanks to sanctions and coronavirus this peoiple are now isolated from their Western assets (and limited in opportunity to leave Russia) and it is good time to send them to justice. By the way note how BBC is avoiding to mention that " Liberal Democrat Party of Russia" is Vladimir Zhirinovsky party.

First, LDPR set up by KGB is nonsense – KGB was part of Soviet ruling system and society, and in late 1980th was as rotten as other parts of ruling system, de-facto falling apart. Creating LDPR (party that is one of leading political forces in modern Russia, almost 30 years after USSR collapse) was way above their capability (as they failed their basic function – protecting USSR).Second, have I said LDSPR was created by West? Western intelligence was hardly in better shape than KGB (and not improving since then, as we see from Trump dossier case or suiciding Epstein) . But it is no way to deny so called “democrats” were heavily supported by West (and most everything looted from Russia made its way to Western pockets). Re “what western assets”- see Brits complaining about Russian byers raising price of property in London. And it is not limited to London, unfortunately.https://1-property.ru/e-news/2794.htmlRe “what real difference is there between people that looted russia in 1990´s and the ones that loot it now” – the difference is not between people (as they are often the same people) but situation: in 1990th they were considered presidential candidates (like Nemtsov and Khodorkovsky) or kingmakers like Berezovsky and “7 bankers”, in 2000th they were safely leaving Russia to enjoy their assets abroad enough for their grandchildren lifetime. Now they (or at least some of them) go to Russian jail.

Murph
Former Soviet states of Armenia and Azerbaijan are fighting. Looks like the Caliph of the Ottomans is really upping the stakes, and looking to reform the Ottoman Empire. Erdogan and Syria are behind this ethnic cleansing, so what are we going to do? Or more importantly what is Putin going to do? It is after all in his backyard. Not really a US problem except for the Muslims being Muslims and ethnically cleansing the area. https://www.dailywire.com/news/violent-conflict-explodes-between-armenia-and-azerbaijan-heres-what-you-need-to-know
