A Columbia County woman is back in jail after she failed to show up in court for an aggravated battery charge.

In October of last year, Kimberly Dunn, 35, shot her ex-husband in the testicles after he tried to take an AC unit, according to an arrest report.

Someone who tried hard but did not qualify....

He should have been dragged through the vehicle window and mauled, just because he disrespected the creature outside.

A tourist has been criticised for patting a lion through the window of a safari jeep in South Africa.

Footage of the man's encounter with the lion has gone viral, with the clip viewed more than 500,000 times on YouTube.

The tourist can be seen reaching past his friend to stroke the animal through the window of the vehicle.

But the tourists got the shock of their lives when the lion turned around to face them and let out a roar.

Clearly rattled by the experience, the tourists then hastily shut the window.

South African safari ranger Naas Smit told The Sun what the tourist did was "incredibly stupid".

"I just have to shake my head when I see people behaving like this and they deserve all they get," he said.

Man who thought he was wearing 'stab-proof' vest dies after stabbing himself

"While in the kitchen, he took hold a knife to demonstrate it was stab-proof and sadly realized it wasn’t the case," assistant coroner Karin Welsh said during a court hearing.

He probably should read more. A few years ago there was a story about a Russian cop who asked a friend to stab him in his bullet-proof vest. Sadly it had the same results.

Was walking by the lion compound at the Toronto zoo one day and there was this roar. Looked to my right and there was this humungous male lion standing against the glass. The girlfriend and myself used each other to steady ourselves as we walked away.

I bet the lion was laughing at us - scared some more two legs.

Congratulations, you and her are the result of countless generations of proper natural selection, your genes KNOW to steer clear of big cats

Especially when big cats come out of nowhere.

If a video does that to you then you would have been spitting them out your mouth in real life.

No doubt. I love home sized felines, inmensely, but big, toothy cats i respect.

I shared a link about Musk the other day, apparently the Millenium Maverick has a sustained disregard for safety in the work place. Disregard that he'll now extend to the world at large

Dont tell me, he was encouraging team-building, by Flamethrower deathmatch?

Well I guess its one way of building a stronger company, by Darwinian selection....

I was visiting the National Zoo in DC many years ago when the Bengal tiger let out a low rumbling growl. A million years of natural selection told my brain "Bad, RUN!". I was surprised how the primal instinct kicked in even though I had never heard the sound before. I had to chuckle.

There is a theory that there are latent memories in the human brain of past trauma's. For example, there are many, many sightings of black cats in the UK than there ever can possibly be cats, and the theory goes, what we are seeing is some innocuous animal, a small cat, dog, maybe even a hare, and our brains are filling in the expectations of what we expect to see. Rather a Nigel Kneale style explanation, but it dovetails nicely with what you felt, that it was DNA coded to run away from Tiger's because they are bad news.

Probably explains quite a lot of Cryptozoology when you think about it, from Lake Monsters to Chupacabras.

I worked for a well known British 'industrialist' whom was cited by many as the next Brunel. He was a bullshit artist as well. Happily he didnt have a poor safety record, but it wasnt for want of trying. Happily he solved the problem of injury in the British workspace by offloading all the industry to Malaysia.

Musk strikes me as a typical silicon valley self publicist. Or Robber Barons as they used to be known in a more civilized age.

Epigenetics.

Currently also the best explanation to how octopi can be so smart.

I noticed that my chickens were exceptionally bothered by Buzzard's flying over my back garden. Now logically there is no real reason why they should be. Nobody told them to be worried about Birds of Prey. Ultimately they did meet one fairly close up (he realized they were bigger than he thought, so ultimately them alone), but even before that, they were hiding from them by reverting to type, behaving as jungle fowl they once were and hiding under the hedge.

I noted that similarly meerkats at the local zoo were doing the same thing, both on the horizontal (actually looking through people or so it looked) and up at the sky. They hadnt a fear of a predator in a 50 miles, yet still they looked for one. So yes, I can entirely believe we are similarly programmed. And its long established we dont actually always see what we think, we see what we expect to see. Or sometimes, we see what we fear to see.

We should have stayed up in the trees, we were far better suited to them than all this civilization malarky IMHO.
