The Canadian PM only did so after facing intense scrutiny for seeking its renewal despite the protests being over. But even though things have calmed down, Trudeau continues to push for his dystopian dream. In a recent speech, he gave a bizarre and revealing rant on “democracy” in which he suggested that it is anti-democratic for a government to not censor free speech.

rmgill Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 Given how icebergs can suddenly roll due to instability as parts melt, I'd hate to land on one and have it suddenly decide to invert due to a little nudge from the helo.

Ssnake Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 Wasn't he shot by the Secret Service when the president had a heart attack?

MiloMorai Posted March 31, 2022 Posted March 31, 2022 As another school takes down Sir John's A's name, Canadians don't support 'rewriting' history (msn.com) Excerpts from the link. As yet another school removes the name of founding Canadian Prime Minister Sir John A. Macdonald, polls show that Canadians are not on board with these types of name changes. Nevertheless, the love for Macdonald was decidedly lukewarm when he was ranked against some of his fellow travellers in Canadian history books. ... ouis Riel — who was executed by Macdonald’s government for leading a Metis insurrection against Canada — got a 76 per cent favourability ranking. Agnes MacPhail, the first woman elected to the House of Commons, got a 75 per cent rating. “Father of Medicare” Tommy Douglas emerged with 85 per cent. But all three, of course, have their own historical skeletons in the closet. Riel saw himself as a religious prophet ordained to bring polygamy to Canada in order to “teach women once again that the only way for them to be pleasing to God and their husbands … is to sincerely practice the virtues of modesty, thriftiness and kindness.” MacPhail and Douglas publicly shared the view of many progressives at the time that society should be uplifted via state-controlled limits on human breeding. All skeletons need to be to be exposed.
Colin Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 Crappy, biased history courses in schools are to blame, replacing somewhat slanted European descendant viewpoints with Lefist, wokish trash. All these hereditary Chiefs the progressive fawn over got that way by their ancestors owning slaves.
R011 Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 I remember once giving a lecture on regimental history to a recruit calass and seeing the shocked looks on their faces when I gave a less than flattering description of Riel (while acknowledging the Metis were being screwed over by Ottawa).

Kids find history boring as they taken out the interesting bits so people don't offended or have traumatic experiences reading things.
Ssnake Posted April 1, 2022 Posted April 1, 2022 FFS, "traumatic reading experience"? Sure, some literature is really sub par in quality, but if you can't stand a text, put the book down or skip a section, and the ordeal is over. This constant walking on eggshells is crazy.

Putting the text down doesn't work well in a high school class.
