Tim Sielbeck Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I don't give articles like this too much credit. There isn't any mention of the criteria used to determine the ratings and if history is any indicator actually being fat isn't one of them. Dallas was on one of these lists some time ago and none of the metrics used was actually measuring peoples heights and weights and body fat counts.

No but I did tell a kid that his father could legally whup his butt and no, CPS had nothing to say about parental discipline as long as it was "reasonable", I mean normal people reasonable, not bleeding heart liberal CPS reasonable. I quoted chapter and verse of the Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure. The little sh** was stunned that he could not tell his dad to F off and get away with it.

Murph Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Good, these idiots need to know there are consequences, for too long we have allowed the insane to run the asylum. Same with the Democrat terrorist groups, they need to be sent to prison.

Ssnake Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Yeah, Johnson was quite the character. I just hope that Robert Caro gets the fourth volume done before he dies, which looks increasingly unlikely. He'll turn 90 on Halloween.
Ivanhoe Posted March 29 Posted March 29 https://hilariusbookbinder.substack.com/p/the-average-college-student-today Quote I’m Gen X. I was pretty young when I earned my PhD, so I’ve been a professor for a long time—over 30 years. If you’re not in academia, or it’s been awhile since you were in college, you might not know this: the students are not what they used to be. The problem with even talking about this topic at all is the knee-jerk response of, “yeah, just another old man complaining about the kids today, the same way everyone has since Gilgamesh. Shake your fist at the clouds, dude.” So yes, I’m ready to hear that. Go right ahead. Because people need to know. To me it appears that most (not all) Millennials and Zoomers are very disconnected from prior generations and more peer-focused. Thus, when all one's peers are spending 6+ hours a day on social media, that behavior becomes the norm.
Ivanhoe Posted March 30 Posted March 30 https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/damning-conduct-fbi-agents-stationed-asia-paid-sex-prostitutes-over-several-years Quote FBI agents stationed overseas engaged in sex with prostitutes in Cambodia, the Philippines, and Thailand—sometimes while colleagues attended anti-human trafficking training, the New York Times reported. The "damning conduct", which occurred between 2009 and 2018, involved agents paying for or accepting sex while socializing with each other and local police, revealing a culture where women were routinely exploited. The report, made public after a New York Times lawsuit, offers the most detailed account yet of a scandal kept largely under wraps since the early Trump years. It surfaces as new FBI Director Kash Patel vows to overhaul the agency. Prostitution is widespread but illegal in Cambodia, the Philippines, and Thailand—countries where FBI agents engaged in misconduct, despite the bureau’s ban on paying for sex and its stated focus on fighting human trafficking. “The F.B.I. took swift action once alerted to the behavior,” the agency said, adding that those involved were fired and overseas personnel training has since been updated. Seems to me that if you need to train FBI agents to not frequent prostitutes, the FBI's hiring criteria need some work. Then again, perhaps a tryst with a prostitute is part of the vetting process; a new agent unwilling to violate laws and social norms isn't going to fit in with the team. Also seems obvious that an FBI agent filmed with an underaged tranny prostitute would be vulnerable to extortion.

Ivanhoe Posted April 16 Posted April 16 This is actually a thing. A few years back I read of a case in coastal Texas where a guy who lived in a downmarket neighborhood had a "shower gun" in case a home invasion occurred when he was in the shower, and one day it came in handy.
