That seems to be very similar (as measuring spending per pupil) to this data.  It should be noted that the Federal government (not necessarily the DoE) accounts for a very small % of spending per pupil (8% per google).

This is more accurate:

I have several friends who teach at high end private schools and the number of admin and support staff blows away even the most perceived inefficient public school.

The underlined adjective phrase indicates the problems. Those of us here in the real world can't touch "high end" places.  The private school ,my boys attended had a part-time secretary and a janitor for staff.  The principal also taught.  The other private schools with which I have connections are staffed similarly.

When changes are presented as just % differences that can be very misleading as it's easy to paint a narrative.

Someone posted a similar pic, but with sources, not too long ago.  I looked those up and while there seemed to be some truth to administration bloat per the actual numbers the data was still unclear (not specific enough) in other areas.

Modern schools simply have far more staff than they did when my parents went to school.  I have a friend whose wife is a full-time speech pathologist at a local elementary school.  There are so many kids with issues they can afford to have here there full-time.  I have several friends who teach at high end private schools and the number of admin and support staff blows away even the most perceived inefficient public school.

I was talking with my sister over the thanksgiving week about this. She does reviews of students directly to diagnose learning disabilities. She noted that paperwork was the driver for much of this. State level which is likely driven by federal level. More paperwork means more people put in place to

She has a side gig where she will show up to a house with a trailer and do an on site review for a directly paid fee to help parents diagnose if a kid has a learning disability. She writes up a report of her findings and it's direct to the parents so far less paperwork. Cuts out the middle bureaucrats.

She's also looking to do the same for private schools which strangely don't have any programs for this.

I haven't seen any specific data on the following but I would like to see the number of  students with the traditional two parent family needing "special services" vs those students who do not come from said families.

I suspect there is a "bathtub curve" where the very low income and very high income households consume the most special services in public school systems.

The occurrence of hemophilia and porphyria in European aristocracy has been attributed to inbreeding.

Some have hypothesized that inbreeding, along with an honor culture, explains the prevalence of violence in the Muslim world.

The research, conducted by the BBC and broadcast to a shocked nation on Tuesday, found that at least 55% of the community was married to a first cousin. This is thought to be linked to the probability that a British Pakistani family is at least 13 times more likely than the general population to have children with recessive genetic disorders. The research found that while British Pakistanis accounted for just 3.4% of all births, they had 30% of all British children with recessive disorders and a higher rate of infant mortality.

I think we talked about diesel emissions in this thread.

New regs coming down the pike. More strict. 2027 trucks will be more complex, expensive and unreliable.

We will need to recirculate exhaust gasses into the intake.

EGR in the early 1970s gasser motors was a train wreck. I can't imagine how this will turn out different.

Question. We refer to gasoline-fueled IC engines as gassers. Now that diesels must use urea injection, should they be called pissers?

Unclear if this was a liberal or some sort of deranged conservative. But someone has tried to kill Nick Fuentes. Apparently after killing 3 other people.

The Lotus eaters cover this below. The footage of the dude going up to the door is rather odd.

The large takeaway is that the political violence is getting worse.

And it all seems to be emanating from one side

Seems to. I'm waiting to see what the shooter's actual politics were before I attribute to any one side.

Did this split along partisan lines or was there any bipartisan consensus?

I don't know but this is the dissent:

"While we do not challenge the Committee’s findings, we take great exception that the
majority deviated from the Committee’s well-established standards and voted to release a report
on an individual no longer under the Committee’s jurisdiction, an action the Committee has not
taken since 2006."

There are several applications for the old-school incandescent bulbs (Edison means the standard screw-in connector style).

For one, people used 100W incandescents as simple, cheap heaters for pumphouses and chicken incubators.

It certainly implies a degree of familiarity.

Though Trump and Obama smiling and quietly chatting/laughing is curious.
