I'm planning to rent an AR, unless somebody has one to spare. Are we doing handguns at all?

The application form says to return it by mail with the 100 $ deposit enclosed, which I'm loathe to do with my experience of mailing to the US. Is a direct bank transfer possible? Otherwise I could e-mail somebody stateside the documents to send them by letter once I get to scan some proof of my upstanding citizenship :D at work tomorrow, and solemnly promise to reimburse for the deposit once we meet up.

WeLL at $100 for two days that cheap when you consider the cost of shipping, insurance, potential loss etc. Renting seem a better option. Will the folks I promised rifles to please check in with me? It would help if Simon would write in complete sentences :D He would be alot easier to under stand. :P

Like i said earlier Renting seens like a better bet when you consider the costs involved, shipping insurance, weird federal regs (soon to be implemented?)

Indeed I have. Just scanned the stuff, and will mail you shortly. Thanks.

OK I got it and now I'm stumped as to what to show as "proof of good character". I got none of the items listed on the form...

A copy of my green card? I did have to pass background check for that.

What sorts of mag carriers and harness are best for this sort of class?

This should be a 'train as you fight' class, so since most weirdness happens in the front hallway at Oh Dark 30. Range uniform should be barefoot in skid-marked undies and a t-shirt. First engagements are with pistol, but you have to be clutching your teddy-bear in your left hand when the buzzer goes off.

A photographic document of your sincere enthusiasm?

Pro tip: Velcro works good at keeping pop-up ILLUM, smoke and frags from rolling/bouncing about in the vehicle and often faster and easier than ammo cans. S/F....Ken M

If you want me to bring a 2-3 Enfields for S&G I can. I can't supply lots of .303 as the good stuff is $$$. But a round or two of fire with bolt actions would be interesting. I have plenty of chargers and I can provide some period web gear for the task too. I can bring a choice of Lithgow, Fazakerly, and Long Branch all of which are shooters.

Not what ever is close at hand?

Somewhere on Oleg's photo page there's an image of me brandishing a halberd in my fuzzy green bathrobe in my front hall....

Dang, he sounds like AskANinja.

Simon, check your BookFace PM's for a thread relating to Oleg and a possible 2nd (apparently a model and gun mag writer).

I can see that. There's Networking/IT field velcro that comes in rolls with a slot in it so you can loop it through and back on itself or in and around.

Panduit makes a bunch of different types. Some are also on continuous rolls up to 75' in length. No D-Slot but you pull of what you need and cut it to length.
