Simon Tan Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 Dulles in Washington DC is the nearest major international airport. You can get flights to Charleston WV but it is serviced by smaller regionals.
Simon Tan Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 Go to PFT Facebook and check out the pics from a Precision Rifle class. They are at a long range venue about 15 minutes from skool.
Mike Steele Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 So you can be prepared.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBaISwLnrgo
shep854 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Has anyone started training/practicing? If it's hard to get range time,it's not too early to get into condition--especially given Simon's description of the training pace.I'm working out more often and harder, as well as trying for the range about once a week, where I am working on shot times and general rifle handling, as well as practicing mag changing at home, at least a few times each day. I don't expect to be at an expert level, but I hope to not come off as a complete novice.
BansheeOne Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 I think I can probably keep up with the old wheezers and cardiac cases on TankNet if I get my mild sleep apnoea issues successfully treated this summer.
Simon Tan Posted April 27, 2015 Author Posted April 27, 2015 Chah...tell us that after we lump you with a HK SuperHBAR 416.
rmgill Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 FYI Blue Force Gear has a deal on Fast mags for pistol and 7.62 mags. https://www.blueforcegear.com/pistol-fastmag.html
Simon Tan Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Please see the attachment for the Points of Instruction overview. We will cover as much as we can on Day 1 so we can run scenario based activities on Day 2.POINTS OF INSTRUCTION - TN.pdf
BansheeOne Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Looks thorough. I was a bit apprehensive of dropping cold onto a tactical range for the first time since 1993. Not so. How many are we at current count, twelve?
Simon Tan Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 Typically we will have 2 hours of class and dry drills then its load & make ready. We are around 10 at this time with some losses but I hope to make some up as we creep up. The class is also open to non TNers so please do feel to bring friends n family.I would like to get you a G36 for form but they are all Class II. I don't reckon a G3 will be that much fun to drive for 2 days.
BansheeOne Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I don't have particularly fond memories of the G 3 either ...
Simon Tan Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 The HK91 was like super desirable in the 90s... they asked crazy money for them.
EchoFiveMike Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 This is planned for OCT, correct? S/F....Ken M
Simon Tan Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Yes, 10/5&6, a Monday and Toosday. I'll see if I can get the Greenbrier chef to cater one evening. This BBQ and fixins are just amazing. Simon Edited April 30, 2015 by Simon Tan
Mike Steele Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Remaining Issues:Accommodations? Group Rate? Where? Chow? Free range? or Organized ? Transport? Do we really want single cars? Address to ship arms? Edited May 6, 2015 by Mike Steele
rmgill Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Shep and I are going to drive up together since we're in the same AO.
shep854 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Shep and I are going to drive up together since we're in the same AO. Yep. I figure to link up with Ryan at his place in ATL (outside the perimeter it all looks the same ), and it should be a one-day swoop to the objective.
rmgill Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Nonsense. OTP looks all sorts of different. Gwinnett county and Cobb have their own looks. South DeKalb is...well South DeKalb. Though parts of it could be Clayton county. But, yeah, the two of us can boogie up there in one go between gas stops and food. I've done Atl to DC periphery in one drive several times and ATL to Reading, PA in a single go as well. Edited May 7, 2015 by rmgill
shep854 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 (edited) Clarification: 'FROM outside the perimeter Arlanta (ITP) looks the same!' I lived in NW GA several years, growing up. Edited May 7, 2015 by shep854
shep854 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 The map I'm looking at is small scale, but it looks like all but the last 40mi or so from ATL is interstate.
shep854 Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 A taste of what to expect:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hS6IKQ4mK4k
BansheeOne Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Rhythmic firearms gymnastics? That sounds like an Olympic discipline worth having.
Mike Steele Posted May 11, 2015 Posted May 11, 2015 Reposted because the questions are still out there. Remaining Issues:Accommodations? Group Rate? Where? Chow? Free range? or Organized ? Transport? Do we really want single cars? Address to ship arms?
