JasonJ Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Japan. Car is fine but.. Trains > cars US of A. Train or bus is fine but.. Cars > trains My two cents
shep854 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 If you take a bus cross-country, you will get a fine, leisurely tour of every wide spot in the road along the way...
sunday Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 The thought has crossed my mind, but I remain unsure of what will happen if my rugged German sense that the Right of The People to Drive Their Cars as Fast as They Bloody Well See Fit Shall Not be Infringed meets US roads ... On one hand, I do not think the average USA rental has higher top speed that your old Punto. And you did not drive that car carelessly. On the other, TomTom navigators also come with a database of speed camera.
Simon Tan Posted September 16, 2015 Author Posted September 16, 2015 U has mobile data....u don't need GPS.
shep854 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Road maps are also free at state welcome centers--anybody remember those?
shep854 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I reserved a room at the Super 8 next to the Holiday Inn; ammo ordered. Now for practice, PT and packing.
shep854 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 Ammo's here--FedEx left a sticker on my door; I wasn't expecting it 'til next week. NOW, to keep from burning it up in practice...

GregShaw Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 I just figure the sooner I shoot them the sooner I can reload them and shoot them again. Of course I already have 3 - 4k 5.56 empties sitting in the garage that need to be trimmed and have primer pockets swaged before I can reload them.
Simon Tan Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 You will all exceed this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BRAO5_ASuqY
rmgill Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) When moving and shooting is it best to take a knee to reduce profile when reloading or do so while still standing? And if I can be remotely as good as those guys I'll be pleased as punch. Edited September 22, 2015 by rmgill
EchoFiveMike Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 You should be moving from cover to cover, else you'll rapidly get shot. Range training is range training. S/F....Ken M
rmgill Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 The using cover thing, I am very much down with. I'm asking on the point of if there's no cover. The above video of slowly advancing while firing is what I reference.
Simon Tan Posted September 25, 2015 Author Posted September 25, 2015 Firing while moving is a tactic to allow you to suppress the enemy as you move to cover. Something cover is in front.. other times it is to the side or to the rear. You will learn to shoot while moving in all directions. There is no rote solution. You respond to the situation presented. Training teaches skills and mindset. You bring the solution.
shep854 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 We should be getting a 'final instruction' email from Pat any day now, correct?
Simon Tan Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 One of you better have a Go Pro and take copious fotos. This is costing me money and heartburn.
Fritz Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I recently got an entry level DSLR so I got the photo part covered, dunno about Go Pro though.

Simon Tan Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Need the rail mount for GoPro for that FPS feel.
