Guest Charles
Very nice, almost an amalgam of various design concepts from both East & West. I presume that the cassette at the back is mainly storage, spares etc?. Charles
Daan
Isn't the CITV placed way too much to the rear (like on the Leopard 2), which may result in problems looking down steep slopes?

M48A5K
More photos from otvaga. What are the empty slots on the side of the turret? Maybe slots for GPS and 30mm gun?
Gavin-Phillips
More photos from otvaga. What are the empty slots on the side of the turret? Maybe slots for GPS and 30mm gun? I was wondering about that myself (30mm gun), now that the vehicle has finally been revealed that was one of the features I was looking for. But it appears either the 30mm cannon has either been omitted from the design, or just has not been fitted yet? I must say I am very impressed with the MBT, very sleek looking vehicle although maybe the slat armour spoils it a little.

M48A5K
No 30mm gun, only 125mm + 2 x 7,62mm. http://community.battlefront.com/topic/118480-armata-soon-to-be-in-service/?p=1604705 It is stated here that the Armata will be equipped with 30mm gun module. Sovngard
Looks like that the "real" turret shape has been covered by a metal fairing.

methos
The turret doesn't seem to have much armour - at least the autoloader bustle should be rather exposed. Maybe this will be a future trend on tanks with unmanned turrets... Edited May 5, 2015 by methos
