And yes, the ARK was a great way to get a crossing over an obstacle I such a way that did not spend the time on a vehicle launched bridge. The great eastern ark is another form of the same concept with a different ramp profile.
DB Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 One constraint that limited UK production was trained draughtsmen. It's mentioned several times in various aircraft histories as a limiting factor. When you can't xerox a design change, you're having to get all the drawings copied by hand, and that's not something that happens instantly. The UK was essentially short of trained manpower in just about everything.
rmgill Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 And every part needs a draftsman to draw out the parts for the machinists. There was a way to make blue print copies though....once you had a drawing.
