T-64BV hit by large calibre HE

 

I find a couple of things very eye catching about this picture.

 

Firstly, what presumably is the impact point of the large calibre HE round (howitzer?). Is this a good example of what I've read so much of on this site about "weld seams cracking" when large calibre artillery is used in the anti-tank role? Even if the round doesn't penetrate, it'll still cause massive structural damage.

 

Secondly, take a look at the barrel of the main gun, almost looks like its been cut off deliberately!? I cannot quite imagine an HE impact would have produced a clear cut like that.

 

I don't suppose there's any word on if any of the crew made it?

it's cut off after battle IIRC(some locals probably)

That last one looks like it was in a scrap ward. I think I can see 4 APCs. Have they been caught in DF as that could explain some of the other damage.
