Gavin-Phillips Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 T-64BV hit by large calibre HE I find a couple of things very eye catching about this picture. Firstly, what presumably is the impact point of the large calibre HE round (howitzer?). Is this a good example of what I've read so much of on this site about "weld seams cracking" when large calibre artillery is used in the anti-tank role? Even if the round doesn't penetrate, it'll still cause massive structural damage. Secondly, take a look at the barrel of the main gun, almost looks like its been cut off deliberately!? I cannot quite imagine an HE impact would have produced a clear cut like that. I don't suppose there's any word on if any of the crew made it?

Gavin-Phillips Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 That'd make sense. Thanks Wiedzmin.
Briganza Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 That last one looks like it was in a scrap ward. I think I can see 4 APCs. Have they been caught in DF as that could explain some of the other damage.
