When the AEF went to France they brought along 8 artists. Apparently the drawings went almost straight into storage after the war. The Smithsonian digitized them and made the collection available here http://collections.si.edu/search/results.htm?view=&date.slider=&q=world+war+i+art&dsort=&start=0

These are excellent, many of them are touching, other are highly detailed - I would even say many are better resource than photographs from the time. Really great find, thanks!
