JasonJ
War reenactors got themselves a Ha-Go. And reenacting of sorts.
JasonJ
And if it come off as creepy, as it does, their reenactments as US and British soldiers might help a bit.
JasonJ
I generally have mixed feelings. Kind of neat, some moments are a little silly, and I feel that they probably get unfair criticism since like most other countries, they should be allowed to reenact with their gear. But I have concerns with whatever nationalistic tone that is possibly attached but it's hard to see exactly how much there really is. Also concerns with how Koreans and Chinese would feel about it, regardless of the reenactments themselves being against the US and GB, not Korea or China. I do feel South Korea over plays the "comfort women" issue and it really shouldn't be something that the Japanese must acknowledge before being allowed to play for reasons I have explained before. But it's still something that can make Koreans feel at unease so I think about that unease and thus it limits me in having a positive opinion of the reenactments. Somewhat similar with Chinese although historical recognition issues from Japan more severe since the Nanking massacre does get entirely denied by some when surely many were killed, raped, etc although the CPC really makes it difficult with their propaganda. These reenactments aren't like some sort of national event though, it's just a few of them reenacting so Koreans and Chinese shouldn't have to mind it so much I think. Would be easier to be OK with the reenactments if the historical issues have been put to rest. Anyway, this is more to my liking: http://youtu.be/dgIphGSwLK4 Edited March 31, 2015 by JasonJ
Mikel2
War reenactors got themselves a Ha-Go. Love the chucks. There must be a health and safety committee among those reenactors. I know I sound like a broken record, but why people would want to recreate such a horrible period in mankind's history is beyond me. I am incredibly grateful that it is long gone history. TonyE
War reenactors got themselves a Ha-Go. One of the very few times that i`ve seen a 100% correct (by the book) early ww2 japanese tank camouflage scheme on a preserved (or modern replica) japanese tank. JasonJ
I'm trying to google that phrase and can't find a single reference to it. Try posting something a little more in actual use rather something which has no actual backing but on only plays on a stereotype.
urbanoid
I think it was made to show the squid thing, and the rest was irrelevant. Actually there is an 'I love you' phrase in Japanese, I'm aware of that.
