As I have mentioned on another thread, I feel it is untrue that China is a dependable military ally to N Korea.

I cited that they don't even supply arms to N Korea like they do the Pakistanis.

The Chinese don't trust the N Korean lunatic government, but is at the same time reluctant to see it disintegrate as it will bring chaos to its borders and invite the Americans once more.

The Chinese were never in a position to commit mass murder on the Koreans like the US was never in position to do mass murder on Canadians. Chinese have done it to themselves for the sake of CPC and Chiang Kai-chek has done it. Everyone did mass murder, be it from 1,000s of rifles or hundreds of bombers. Those were the days. It's a moot point.

But would China be ok with a unified Korea under the South Korean government and culture?

Bringing Communism to a country is not much different than practicing genocide.

Check your history.

Russians brought communism to N Korea. China reacted only when they felt the US were threatening their borders. After the war the Chinese did not remain in N Korea in any meaningful numbers.

@Jason

Are you sure that those guys weren't Japanese Koreans (I mean ordering the food)? There's quite a lot of them. Well, relatively.

Amen.

Btw. I recall the story I read, wrote by a Polish blogger living in Japan with her Japanese husband.

They visited some city in Japan, and came across a nationalist demonstration. As she's the curious type, she not only took some photos, but also approached the nationalists to ask them whom are they protesting against. They said that it was against the gaijins who deprive them of work etc. When she said she's also a gaijin living and working here, the guy replied sth. like: Oh no, we mean the Chinese and Koreans, we like whites, I studied in the US, I loved it and shit'. After that a weight was lifted from the heart of 'His Highness' (her husband is much taller than her), as he realized she's safe. :)

They had a very natural Korean sound in their speech. I'm pretty sure they were not Japan born Koreans.

Yea, the US and Europe ranks quite higher in Japanese tastes. But as I have been talking about, those that like Korea has grown a lot. China is still "scary" to many. But even with China, I know some university friends that became friends with Chinese students. Generally politics sucks is agreed on and then they move on from there.

Korean communism started in the 1920s as part of the anti-Japanese movement. There were times when the Korean communists worked with their Chinese counterparts but not always. The Koreans made clear of their own ways. So China didn't bring communism to Korea. Not so much by the SU either really. The communists Koreans were inspired by the SU but it was still a Korean flavor. In 1950, Stalin wasn't very supportive of them either. Not until later in the war. The Chinese anticipated the amphibious assault at Incheon and prepared for intervention accordingly. So they were not the bringers of communism but sustainers no doubt. Makes me wonder if only MacArthur didn't push to the border, just grapped and secured Pyongyang on the west and about to Wonson or so in the East. But still. Maybe the Chinese could have waited for the US forces to actually invade China before going in? The US already saved Taiwan by this time, so China was pretty pissed at the US about that.

In the second picture from the bottom the green board says "The sausages are processed for the foxes"

It is morning here and my brain is still frozen, so I read that as "The foxes are processed into sausages."

A deceiving Jap fox farm that would be.

King, you da man. I recall seeing a clip of this in a PBS show about dogs, which used those experiments to demonstrate how quickly selective breeding could produce dramatic change in a gene pool. Now I gots a video of the full story.

As for foxes, this video shows a fox acting exactly like a dog;

notice the front paws when the fox is laying on its back, what I call "puppy paws". An instinctive sign of submission, but some adult dogs do it when they are getting some quality 1 on 1 time with their human.

It does befuddles me the alleged Japanese lack of interest for sex, when i see their hey have a plethora of sexualized cultural icons.

Makes perfectly sense. If you get enough sex at home, there is less demand for substitutes like porn.

"over sexed and under fucked"

Same the so called western world all over: barely clothed bodies on every advertisement board, on TV etc etc, but people seem to have less sexual activity than previous generations actually.

Yes, but the gist is not that they are low on the activity itself, they are supposed to be low on the drive, the desire...

It's because they are so horribly over-worked they don't have the mojo anymore.

Including Japan into western industrial society, we are the most medicated, ever. Half the civilized world is on hypertension meds or psychotropics.
