Ivanhoe
Are those trim wheels on the console? On the Quadsteer, great idea but it either couldn't sell or worked badly. For 95% of pickup owners, it would be a great thing as they do more driving in mall parking lots than cattle pastures. I have all sorts of fun trying to thread my Superduty through surburban parking lots (forget about drive-thru fast food joints). U-turns with oncoming traffic are also enjoyable. Olof Larsson
Are those trim wheels on the console? My guess would be adjusting the heaters. ISTR Volvo-tractors (or Volvo cars) had those, when I was a kid. Edited October 18, 2014 by Olof Larsson
Ivanhoe
Well, I was hoping for elevators, or at least diving planes. What I find cynically amusing is that the gauge at 12 o'clock is the coolant temp gauge. Must have been one of those cars where you carefully plan your x-country route so that every 300 km you stop to check the gas and fill the radiator. Olof Larsson
Tachometer center of cluster - but where is the speedometer? In those days, speedometer was not considered necessary for a true sports car(speedometer was for those who was worried about speeding). ISTR an urban legend (probably not true, but it says something about the view about speedometer in european sports cars back in the days),that when Lotus was forced by law, to fit their cars with speedometer, they placed it to the left, in front of the passenger seat. Still, it seems like Maserati intended to fit the car with a different instrumentation:

BP
Motorcycle postman, Washington, DC 1912 There are actually a few of those boxes, as well as the fireman and police call boxes, still around DC. Most are fully sealed/tack welded, and some have been garishly painted or even restored to original appearance. That old cast iron construction is as sturdy as...well, cast iron. Kind of neat to see such urban artifacts if you know where to look.
