I have seen video of the same thing done to a semi tractor......

 

 

And I'll go one better than that - rope around the the prop of a late '30s fighter plane, pulled by a car......

Looks like an Elco Veedette.

 

Too big for a Vedette. Bow,flair doesn't quite look right for an Elco, but I guess it could be a Flattop with mode over the past 80 years.
