Imprisoned Girkin-Strelkov dismisses any chance of a ceasefire for Russia, claiming Putin's allies have zero electoral support in Ukraine. His grim outlook has reached a new level.

https://x.com/wartranslated/status/1880227798843068788

As always, i strongly recommend using original sources, not some Western ones

https://t.me/donbass_skripnik/19390

"IGOR STRELKOV / fragment of a letter/:

- Regarding the "respite for us too", there will be no respite for us at all. You will see for yourself if something like a "truce" is concluded. The enemy will not observe it "from the word at all" but we will, "in the traditions of the Minsk agreements that have no alternative." That is, they will shoot at us, fortifications will be built in front of our eyes, troops will be concentrated (and then NATO troops will be deployed), and we (i.e., Moscow) will respond with dull protests. And then someone will start talking again with an offended voice about how he was "tricked by the nose again."

- Medvedchuk HAS NO ELECTORAL BASE in the so-called Ukraine. It existed and exists only in the official papers of our, God forgive us, "intelligence services", which (as has been our custom for a long time) "reported not what really happened, but what the bosses wanted to hear."

- In this war, it is impossible to "reach a compromise" (this is essentially a civil war). Therefore, someone will win (sooner or later) a complete and decisive victory in it. And if it's not us, then...
I'm for our victory, of course-I was, I am, and I will remain, no matter what.

- When you ask questions (often of a rhetorical nature), you proceed from the current state of affairs and public sentiment. So much is likely to change this year that all the current "realities" will seem wild and a "mirage." Or - "a deep tradition of antiquity." However, "clinging to the ghost of a happy past" is typical of aging and decrepit states and civilizations. We are in for a very cruel "sobering up" after a quarter of a century of "mindless waste" of the ancestral heritage. Soon, people will probably have to fight en masse and work hard not for "ideas", but just for a piece of bread and a little heat and electricity in the long winter.

I wish that at least these gloomy predictions of mine would not come true...
With respect, I.V. Girkin
14.01.2025"

As we see, Strelkov said nothing about "Putin's allies" (who do not exist), but noted specifically one person - Medvedchuk, and no surprise in it since it is one of the most hated figures for pro-Rus community, for good reasons

Practical results of frontline movement (that Western sources are usually describing as "insignificant"): first time famous "MotorSich" plant in Zaporozhye (that years ago US Administration prevented China from buying, out of fear of Soviet aircraft engines technology poliferation) reached by glide bombs strike in the middle of working day (note the lights in plant administratioin building still on)

President Zelensky claimed it was "terror strike on civilians" https://t.me/V_Zelenskiy_official/12920

The building in flames is plant office, one -floor building near it is main security pass (the way workers go in and out)

Scholtz really can't seem to put a foot right.

It's what the left-wingers and hardcore pacifists under Mützenich force him to do. Their priority #1 is to raze the law against excessive deficit spending. If they have to throw Ukraine under the bus for that, it's the kind of price they're absolutely willing to pay. Plus, they really want appeasement with Russia.

I'll grant the man that he's neither a complete fool nor an appeaser. He's just a bit of a coward, and a notorious embezzler of tax money. Just google his involvement with the Warburg bank scandal during his time as mayor of Hamburg, and then of course the attempt to misappropriate the absurdly inflated Covid credit lines that he put in place while he was Merkel's minister of finance to other pet projects once that he became chancellor to pay off everybody in his coalition.

Man, I'm glad that the Bundesverfassungsgericht busted his balls on that one.

That was, by the way, the exact moment when this administration fell apart. They realized that only nine months later, and only during budget negotiations. How unprepared they were for this still baffles me. Nobody in that coalition was a serious person.

"Meanwhile, serious arrests have begun in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR) of Ukraine reported on the detention of several high-ranking officers at once.:

Lieutenant General Artur Gorbenko, former commander of the 125th separate brigade from Lviv;

Brigadier General Yuri Galushkin, former commander of the Kharkov Military District;

Colonel Dmitry Ryumshin, former commander of the infamous 155th Infantry Brigade "Anna Kievskaya".

According to the Ukrainian investigation, the negligence of these officers led to the loss of territory during the offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in the north of the Kharkiv region in the spring of 2024, as well as soldiers and weapons from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

"Also, the actions of the commanders led to the loss of personnel and weapons, disrupted measures to protect the state border in their area of responsibility. It was established that the brigadier general had identified defense positions for the 125th separate air defense brigade that did not match its combat capabilities, and he also had other units that could strengthen these positions," the GBR noted.

After the ex-commanders are brought to Kiev, they will be charged with neglect of duty. The article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years." (https://t.me/milinfolive/140227)

Also, reportedly, former commander of the infamous 155th Infantry Brigade "Anna Kievskaya" have failed to report all the cases of his subordinates fleing from unit while on training in France, de-facto serving as sort of "Schindler"

I wonder if it is true

This seems an odd way to "get back" at Ukraine -- helping them with their "recruiting efforts," that is to say.

A video appeared in Russian Telegram channels showing Russian soldiers being punished for their refusal to go into "meat assaults".

The video was reportedly filmed in Kyzyl (Tyva republic of Russia) and shows soldiers of the 55th motor rifle brigade being abused.

It is reported that a military policeman, callsign
"Mad", beats up two soldiers who refused to take part in suicide assaults after they were wounded from previous combat work. One of them can no longer walk.

all assaults are 'meat assaults' from the perspective of the units involved in any action

the motorized rifle units have the most difficult assignments and absorb the most casualties

but in this war the use and abuse of that term is mainly used for public consumption which seems to imagine

this conflict like world war I or world war II human waves

when you literally see anything from a 2 - 4 man section or squad at the low end to an under strength company

at the high end storming trenches or towns

no one particular action looks like a massed human wave

it does not mean that there is not a high casualty rate but that the casualties are distributed across

a very large front

Do you understand Kyzyl is east from Baikal lake, ~4000km from Moscow, near Mongolia border? Suicide attacks on whom? On Mongols?

Reality is this man is not "a military policeman"  - he and his friend shown on this video are rifleman and MG gunner who are recovering from wounds and were temporary appointed "to maintain order in the unit". Now it is obvious it was wrong decision by their commander (that will most likely cost him career) as for some reason they got mad on two soldiers who were to board westbound military transport airplane, and badly beaten them (one of the soldiers is now in hospital). More over, the person you call "Mad", Alexey Koshelev, is filmed treatening to rape detained servicemen.

Now both Alexey Koshelev and his friend,  Mumbaldai Aldyn-ool, are arrested and are facing up to 10 years in prison. «Упырь в форме»: названы участники видео из Тывы с пытками перед отправкой на СВО

What is a child doing accompanying soldiers near the front?

That is widely discussed on pto-Rus TG channels - versions very from "human shield" to "dady took son to work". Hardly any way to know, but there is a wide practice among pro-Ukrainians to abduct children from territories they are planning to retreat from and evacuate them deeper into Ukraine even against parents will, so may be it was just random boy who was on the street in wrong time.

Note vehicle they drive is unmarked black SUV

They (few remaining) faithful are just using the German WW2 way of explaining their defeats. The  tired old 'the Russians only  won by outnumbering us' whinge of the defeated.

It's called 'evacuation' in most countries... :)

Locals are hiding their children as result (as they hope the frontline will roll over their houses while they are covered in basements. and they will cross to Russia).  No doubt pro-Ukrainians also kniow that, and often just shoot locals when retreating.
