I wonder if this indicates a generate effort towards taking out military targets in Crimea from this point on. Could be, but that in turn means that the offensive has failed. Stuart Galbraith
No, not necessarily. As already said, traffic via rail in southern Ukraine is falling off a cliff. Its too close to the front line. Attacks in crimea are just going after the same traffic going the long way around. Incidentally, the Ukrainians ate also going after Russian shipping at sea supporting the war effort.

Now they do. Huh? The Russians announced they will do just that (and actually have been doing this) since March 2022.

The issue with her was that she didn't have propulsion and the Turks were not keen to have it part ways with the tug in the straits, as she eventually did in the Aegean. Twatter is hardly a source. According to satelite photos ( https://t.me/boris_rozhin/97500 ) there is one burn mark on S-300 position near Evpatoria, not clear what was - may be TEL fire as result of hit or mailfunction, or just grass fire (as it is peak of dry season before autumn rains). Anyway, it is not "S-400 complex destroyed" as complex is dozens of vehicles, not one.

The problem is Black Sea ship repair facilities are generally very weak - first they were hit by fleet separation, when Fleet's main base in Sevastopol was supposed to be left abroad, so everything was scrapped by independent Ukraine owners, then in Russia land near warm sea became too expencive to have anything except hotels profitable there.... Only massive efforts of Rus Gov since earky 2010th somehow improved the situation, but still there is no plant on Black Sea that could properly repair badly damaged submarine. So most likely it will be left to "after the war", as the very need for Russia to have submarines on Black Sea is, let's say, not obvious - land-mased anti0ship missiles in Crimea are well able to reach every corner of the sea. Central superstructure has been destroyed and collapsed entirely. No obvious paint damage or deformation in hull, so fire likely did not reach below decks. Ship is rebuildable, no economic sense to do so though. But navies sometimes do that for prestige reasons to avoid admitting loss.

Yama
Yes, that was relatively newer and more valuable unit though.
