They are notoriously bad at ID.

https://lostarmour.info/ is much better.

Thank you, I'll add that to my "compare and contrast' favorite tabs.

lostarmor takes a bit longer to upload data, but so far I have not found a single ID mistake.

seems to me these battalions do not have anything in significant number..

They are still Bns, not brigades.

It is good old "Buhanka", or Soviet/Russian indestructible road monster. I can safely guess that shit will be still rolling  on when current crop of "off-road vehicles" are all at scrapyard.

Kiev, as well as Peking is in English I have learned. OTOH, that one did not have 43 genders either.

Requiring people to write it Kyiv is the same bullshit as me requiring you to write Beograd instead of Belgrade, Srbija instead of Serbia, Jugoslavija instead of Yugoslavia etc.

I prefer Kyiv. I hope others would to.

Київ > Киев

Village of Bucha, Railstation Street ist titled. 014/2015 looked completely different. The Ukrainians have learned an incredible amount in 8 years.

yes, but making battalion an "universal" force means you end up having weak everything... not enough AA, not enough artillery, infantry, recon or armor...

The camera in your first link was obviously automated, so was this a pre programmed artillery strike?

The devastation is apalling.

The battalion combat groups are said to have not proven themselves particularly well in 2014/2015. Hence the major reorganization into a division and regiment structure. And now another fiasco. Is the duvet just too short?

Probably indicates that Russian commanders are not yet used to operate independent fashion that BTGs would need to succeed.

But then, have they ever really been operating that way?  Brigade/divisional level is more suited for sort of rigid doctrine.

Yes... according to the news media, those are all tanks.

This is also a tank.  :P

Yes it is.
So are these:
Clemmer Vac-U-Test | Steelcraft Inc. | Provider of Steel Products and OEM Manufacturing in Ontario

As is this:
Hydrochloric Acid Storage Tanks, Capacity: 0-250 L

Which is why the media calls this an "Armored" tank so as to distinguish it from its linguistic origin.

That is "T-72B "obrasca" (which is usually translated as model, but is not the same...) 1989".

Maybe beter translation would be "version"

my guess?? their NCOs are just slightly older soldiers with no special training... therefore low initiative, low skills...

Russia has so many off-road truck designs, I've always thought they should try marketing some to the US/Cdn/Aussie offroader community. Not going to compete with Toyota on quality, but a $20k USD offroad van or truck might sell quite well.

At least before the current unpleasantries.

Supposedly UKR SU-25 shot down while sucessfully attacking bridging equipment column.

There are parts from two planes in the photos of wreckage of 25 and two bodies, one fully burned and one not (I will not post such pics). Looks like 2 x 25 fell at the almost same spot.
