Well if people are too concerned about being percieved as posting bad infor, then near nothing gets posted. And in someway, knowing the fake stuff has value too.

You wrote that like it is a bad thing...

I absolutely agree with Bojan. Unless this information is checked and confirmed twice or thrice, it is considered doubtful. Anything else would be unprofessional.

Stefan, how do you imagine that incident with Strela and Ural involved, very small war situation during huge invasion situation could be checked and confirmed?

There were warnings about dressed-up invaders yesterday. There is a fact that invaders painted over national and tactical signs. There are more than a few vids from location of this incident. Do you expect confirmation from Moscow?

There is not enough information here to assess the situation clearly. I would like to name the culprit.

Ok, but you can also say that. If the Russians had not started aggression against Ukraine, this incident would not have happened. And here we can certainly find agreement.

No intel > bad intel because then you at least know what you don't know.

This is different because updates go by the hour. It is literally live. It's not like most other topics of blah blah blah nonsense. I think we should be seasoned enough in not worrying so much about bad info leaving a bad impact. Of course its different if someone is intentionally adding bad after bad. But think to little tolerance is going to strangle out info feed.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says at least 130 people have been killed and more than 300 wounded due to the Russian invasion. Russian President Vladimir Putin justified the military operation by saying he had "no other option."

Ukrainian media reported multiple explosions in the capital, Kyiv, on Friday. The interior ministry says its forces downed a Russian aircraft over the city, which crashed into a residential building.

Russian forces have reportedly attacked Ukraine from three sides and not just in the east. They also came from Crimea and southern Belarus. Pro-Russian officials in the breakaway regions suggest Putin wants to seize new lands.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to stay in Kyiv. He said, "According to our information, the enemy has listed me as target number one, and my family as target number two. They want to destroy the country politically, terminating the head of state."

The US Secretary of State said in an interview that Russia is planning attacks, not just on Kyiv, but other cities too. Being asked about Putin's intention to overthrow Ukraine government, Antony Blinken said he is convinced Putin is going to try to do that.

Ukrainian forces have reportedly already lost control of Chernobyl. The site of the world's worst nuclear disaster remains radioactive more than 35 years later. There's no word yet on conditions at the defunct power plant. Experts believe Russia wants to cut off Ukraine from accessing nuclear waste.

A senior Ukrainian official said this situation has become one of the most serious threats facing Europe.

Zelenskyy told his nation that the blasts they are hearing are "the sound of a new iron curtain." He says it is now "closing Russia off from the civilized world".

The US president promised that Putin will bear the consequences of choosing war. Joe Biden unveiled more sanctions, including measures against five major Russian banks. He says every asset the Russians have in the US will be frozen.

The US Treasury Department says Russian banks conduct about 46 billion dollars' worth of foreign transactions daily, with 80 percent of them in US dollars.

Biden said, "We have purposely designed these sanctions to maximize a long-term impact on Russia and to minimize the impact on the United States and our allies."

Biden says that sanctions against Putin himself are "still on the table," but provided no details. He vowed that the measures will be a "major hit" to the leader's "long-term strategic ambitions." He says he has no plans to talk with Putin.

The US is sending 7,000 troops to Germany to help reassure NATO allies. They'll be deployed elsewhere, within days.

People in Ukraine are fleeing their homes and seeking safety in neighboring Poland. They move by train, car and even their own two feet. A man said he is very worried about his parents who remain in Kyiv, and his friends in Ukraine. A woman said she fled her home because she is afraid of what would happen next. She added that she wants peace and wants to go home.

The Polish government has set up shelters at a sports facility near the border. The United Nations refugee agency says the humanitarian costs of the invasion will be devastating. It went on to say, "There are no winners in war, but countless lives will be torn apart."

Ukrainian forces fought off Russian invaders in the streets of the capital Kyiv on Friday as President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Moscow of targeting civilians and called for more international sanctions.

Pre-dawn blasts in Kyiv set off a second day of violence after Russian President Vladimir Putin defied Western warnings to unleash a full-scale invasion on Thursday that quickly claimed dozens of lives and displaced at least 100,000 people.

The United States and its allies responded with a barrage of sanctions, but the Russian forces looked to press home their advantage after a string of key strategic victories in their air and ground assault.

“Horrific Russian rocket strikes on Kyiv,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba posted on Twitter after the initial explosions were heard in the capital Friday morning.

“Last time our capital experienced anything like this was in 1941 when it was attacked by Nazi Germany. Ukraine defeated that evil and will defeat this one.”

Explosions and small arms fire

In Obolon, a northern district of Kyiv, pedestrians ran for safety and small arms fire and explosions were heard.

Russian forces first arrived on the outskirts of Kyiv on Thursday when helicopter-borne troops assaulted an airfield just outside the city, close to Obolon.
The Ukrainian military said it had repulsed the attack on the Hostomel airbase, but Russian ground forces have also been pushing down the west bank of the River Dnipro from Belarus.

As Russian forces arrived in Obolon, the Ukrainian defence ministry urged civilians to resist.

“We urge citizens to inform us of troop movements, to make Molotov cocktails, and neutralise the enemy,” it said.

Ukraine says 137 people, including soldiers and civilians, have been killed since Russia attacked.

“Ukrainians are demonstrating heroism,” Zelensky said in a video message, accusing Russia of lying about striking only military targets and calling up conscripts and reservists nationwide.

After speaking to EU chief Ursula von der Leyen he called for more sanctions, tweeting that “the pressure on Russia must increase”.

Better to die

In the Ukrainian village of Starognativka near the frontline where separatists have faced off against Kyiv’s forces for years, official Volodymyr Veselkin said on Friday missiles had been raining down all morning and the power was out.
“They are trying to wipe the village off the face of the earth,” he said.

“Never, under any conditions will I submit to Putin. It is better to die,” the 52-year-old teacher said, her face covered in bandages.

The UN’s refugee agency said late Thursday that some 100,000 were already displaced inside Ukraine, while thousands of others fled across the border. Streams of people in cars and on foot were seen crossing into Hungary, Poland and Romania on Thursday.

Zelensky said there was now a “new iron curtain” between Russia and the rest of the world, adding later that his nation had been “left alone”.
“Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don’t see anyone.”

And while the United States moved to impose sanctions on Russian elites and banks, it stressed that American forces would not fight in Ukraine.
NATO said it had activated “defence plans” for allied countries but had no plan to send alliance forces into Ukraine.

It doesn’t necessarily take much time to do some basic source criticism, but I would settle for people letting us know if they haven’t or aren’t able to do that.

Russian troops getting radiated at Chernobyl plant... that whole area is radiated, and dust risen by tanks and vehicles has significant radioactivity.. so if they breathe it... let say, they might not need light when they go for night pee..
